New people, new times

New songs, new rhymes

New artists, new charts

New boys, new heart attacks

New friendships and betrayals

New hardships and new trials

New hellos and new goodbyes

New truths and old lies

New things thrust in the light

Old things kept in the dark

New love filling up ours hearts

Old love ripping us apart

Said you'd always stay the same,

but if that were true I wouldn't be in pain

I didn't know my heart was in danger,

especially when you said, 'I wouldn't change ya'

You changed, I didn't

You betrayed, but I wouldn't

You didn't care, or maybe you did

but if that were so then why ruin me?

I trusted you, I never lied

when you left I felt like I died

Maybe you had your reasons, but maybe you didn't

Who knows? Maybe tonight you're not sleeping

This is about how people change. How they changed when they said they wouldn't, how they they tried to change me. Receiving me with sweet words and a second face, I left my guard down and that bit me in the arse. Maybe they had reasons the didn't share, but then again maybe they have none. Maybe they are torn apart with guilt for what they did?

This poem is about all the changes and maybes we encounter in life...
