"Riker, I'm home from Ryan's house!" Ross's puberty ridden voice rang through the house. I rolled off the bed and glanced at Riker. He was sound a sleep with his thumb in his mouth. I grabbed my phone and snapped a picture, smirking at the snapshot. I tossed my phone aside and strolled out of Riker's room, leaving the door open.
"Ross? It's Marilyn." I called out. I knocked on a door that was covered in red and yellow car stickers, and go in. I found Ross sitting at his desk, hunched over a textbook with paper and pencils spread out. He was blasting one of my favorite songs, Miss Jackson by Panic! At The Disco, through water speakers.
"Hey babe," He said over the music. "What are you doing here?" He asked, turning down the music. I take a seat on his bed and hold his one of his pillows to my chest.
"Riker needed someone to stay with him until one of you guys came home. What kind of homework do you have there?" I asked Ross.
"Geometry," He ran his hands through his hair. "Can you help me?" I crossed over to him and knelt down, taking a look at his work.
~Riker's POV~
I yawned and stretch my arms, immediately regretting it, feeling my sore muscles burn. I slowly got up from the bed and walked out of my open door and into Ross's room. I saw him and Marilyn at his desk, chatting about right angles.
"Where's Delly and Rocky and Ryland?" I asked him. Mom and Dad were both at work and didn't get home until late at night.
"Delly is at dance and Rocky and Ryland are at the park playing football. It's Saturday Riker, they have lives." I rolled my eyes and turned to Marilyn.
"You hungry? I can order take out." I offer her.
"Hey!" Ross yells. "Did you forget about me?"
"How can I forget the most annoying brother in the world?" I smirk at him. "I got you bro." I already know what Ross loves to eat from Chinese restaurants.
"I mean, I'm not hungry, but it's nice to offer food to other people besides the hottie in the room." Ross scolded.
"Oh shut up, runt."
"I'm good too." Marilyn laughed. I trotted downstairs to the living room. I flopped on the couch and turned on the television, surfing the channels.
Around five minutes later, Ross and Marilyn flounced down the stairs and Ross went into the kitchen while Marilyn takes a seat opposite of me, tapping away at her iPhone.
"I thought you weren't hungry Ross." Marilyn said after he went in. Ross came back with a bottle of lemonade.
"I'm not, I just needed to quench my thirst." He began to ascend the stairs when I said,
"You're thirst for Marilyn will never be quenched."
"Riker!" He screamed, stomping up the stairs.
"Look what I got." Marilyn smirked and tossed me her phone. There was a photo of me, in a deep sleep with my thumb in my mouth. I felt a heat rush to my cheeks and I tossed her phone back.
"Marilyn, can I ask you something?" She glanced up and nods.
"Of course you can."
"Well," I cleared my throat nervously and shifted my position. "I was wondering if you." I paused and looked at Marilyn who was giving me all of her attention. "Will you go on a real date with me?" I finally managed to say.
"Um, I don't know." She hesitated. "As long as it's not to a party where I get embarrassed then yes." I did a mental happy dance and Ross stormed into the room.
"Babe? Have you forgotten about our romance?" Marilyn cracked up in laughter as do I.
"Ross, I'm almost eighteen. You're fourteen. I know that may not seem like a big age difference to you but, I'm just not into you okay? Find someone your own age. But I can always be a big sister figure to ya!" She crossed over to my little brother and hugged him tightly.
"I guess you're right." Ross sighs and heads up to his room. "But like Whitney Houston, I will always love youuuu!"
"So for the date, I know this is last minutes but can, we do it tonight?" I asked nervously.
"Sure! I'll get ready now! What time?"
"Seven." I replied confidently. "I'll pick you up!" Marilyn smiled at me and goes upstairs. I did a happy dance and cringed in pain. Marilyn came down with her shoes and hugged me goodbye. I closed the door behind her and watched her car pull off.
{Marilyn's POV}
As soon as I got home, I saw my aunt and Darren snuggled on the couch, watching an old black and white movie. The sight of him here made me want to throw myself off of a bridge, but he made my aunt happy. How? I would never know. I waved to them and approached my aunt, bending down to whisper in her ear.
"I have a date tonight," I said. "He's coming to pick me up." I kissed her cheek and bound upstairs and into my bedroom. I clapped my hands so the lights come on and swing open my closet door. I skimmed all my dresses and skirts and shoes until my eyes land on the perfect combonation. My favorite pink dress that was snug on top and flowy on the bottom. I paired it up with my white heels and diamond stud earrings.
I jumped in the shower quickly and wash my body with coconut scented soap. I shut off the water and dry my body, plugging in my blow dryer. I blow dried my hair and switched out my normally flat ironed hair for tight wand curls. I swiped on some makeup, applying a pink strawberry lip gloss to my lips. I put on some lotion, that matched my soap's scent, to my legs and hands. I shimmied into my undergarment and clothes, being careful not to mess up my hair. I sprayed some coconut perfume all over me. As soon as I grabbed my phone, I heard my aunt yell, "Marilyn he's here!"
