It's been a few years and college is almost over. I can't believe I'll be graduating soon, again. It's been hard missing everyone, even though they all kept contact....except Aaron. I know it's been years but it's hard to forget your first love. Even if he did reject me, after everything I wish we could still be friends again. Since I'll be heading back, he's been on my mind a lot. Although, there is a part of me that wants to just forget about the heartbreak and him all together, there is another part of me that wants to keep him in my memories or at least try to amend things when I get back. And as cheesy as it sounds he shaped me to who I am now. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right? I think it will be good to be friends again.
Speaking of friends, Jiho was supposed to arrive already. It's already 12:30 pm, he always gets me at 12 for our daily lunch date. And no not as in a date date, but ever since that one phone call with Aaron, me and Jiho have gotten closer, to the point we have our own scheduled lunches every Saturday. We even got so close that he even let's me call him Jiho to his face. I've met all his friends too, who had become my friends as well over the years. There's Taeil, Kyung, Yookwon, Jaehyo, Minhyuk or as he prefers is B-bomb, and Jihoon or as everyone calls him P.O. I've also made friends with Sunggyu's friends: Woohyun, Dongwoo, Hoya, Sungyeol, Sungjong, and Myungsoo. We are all excited to head back home. Sunggyu's especially excited, because we've decided to live together when we get back. He was so happy when I agreed to it, I swear it was the cutest thing.
I was cut off from my thoughts due to a knock at the door. When I went to open it, there standing at the door was a very nervous looking Jiho. That's unusual for him.
"Hey, where have you been? You're never late," I ask genuinely confused.
"Ah, that, uh, the thing is, is I was helping Sunggyu with something, and I just forgot to text to say I'll be late."
"Oh, I see," I smiled, "For a second there I honestly thought you forgot."
"Never."
I giggled, "I should've known. So what did Sunggyu need help with?"
"Ah, um, it was nothing really. Sooooo are you ready to go?"
I raised an eyebrow, "Uh, sure."
"Great, let's go. I booked a reservation at this really nice place for lunch," he grabbed my hand and pulled me away, closing the door behind me.
"Oh? What's the occasion," I said trying to keep up with him.
He didn't respond, only hastened his steps. I desperately tried to keep up with him as we began to walk through the city. He looked back every so often to make sure I was okay, but other than that, it was a very quiet walk, which is weird because we are always talking. Something was up. About a half hour of walking later, we finally arrived to the restaurant. It seemed like it wasn't open though.
"Hey are you sure this is the place, it doesn't look like it's open."
He nervously chuckled, "Yeah it is, come on."
I shrugged, "If you say so."
I followed him into the supposedly open restaurant, but as we entered the pitch black building, the lights flickered on, and as my eyes adjusted, they landed on tons of my favorite flowers littered across the room. In the center of the room on one knee was Sunggyu in a tailored suit.
I gasped, "S-Sunggyu, what?"
"(Y/N), we've been together for four years and when we go back to Korea to live together, I want you to be mine forever. So (Y/N) (L/N), will you do me the honor of marrying me?"
I honestly didn't know what to say. What should I say? I know I said I could be happy, especially with him...but I feel like if I say yes I'm going to regret it...What would Ren say about this? Well he would just remind me that this is my chance to be happy. I knew I was hesitating a lot, and I could see the worry in his eyes.
With a heavy chest I decided, "Yes, I'll marry you."
He slipped the ring he held, onto my finger. As soon as he did, all of our friends came into my view to congratulate me. As soon as they all did, I excused myself to the bathroom. Once there I let all my nerves get to me, as I slowly began to have a panic attack. What did I just do?! Staring blurrily at the ring on my finger, I choked back a sob, before trying to compose myself. I went to the sink and splashed water in my face, calming my breathing. I-I did the right thing, this is my chance to be happy with someone who loves me. I looked in the mirror. This is me now, I'm happy.
