So basically, it's about a boy (I'll call him Wess) who lost his father to cancer when he's 12. He waits a few years before trying to get his mom dating, because he's afraid of her becoming lonely and depressed. So she does, getting turned down a lot about having a teenage son, and being a widow. She meets a man who lost his wife in a car accident. They hit it off immediately.
They date for a year and then he proposes. Afterwards, they decided to Wess that his stepdad-to be has a son the same age. 2 weeks younger than him. He would have a step-brother.
When they marry, he meets his step-brother, a punk kid who is rebellious. While Wess hasn't ever done anything wrong in his life.
And guess what: His punk ass step-brother is gay. And crushed on Wess when they went to school together.
