Love Letters and Harmonies

I want to spill my heart on this paper,

I want to beat anew.

I want to take these letters and seal them closed with you.

Your voice is a gentle harmony to my soul,

Your rhythms wrap around and keep my whole.

I hand you my honestly in a heartfelt letter,

It's true, I know I could be better.

You are an angel that fell from the sky,

You've landed beside me and taught me how to fly.

I want to trace your skin like the brush on a canvas,

If only your guiding hands could be my atlas.

I have swam in waters near ten feet deep,

If I try to swim much longer, I will surely lose my feet.

If you could be so kind as to pull me afloat,

I would do my best to offer you some hope.

You will just have to let me know,

That you will not be so quick to go.

But if you do, I only ask you sing me a note before I drown,

So I may sink ever so sweetly until I hit the ground.

Where shadows black out the bleakest of days,

Your love lights the path to guide my way.

So I ask, would you so much as mind,

If I took a moment of your precious time?

I refuse to leave you out in the cold,

Even if I am damp and wounded, I will be bold.

I promise I will not tear your soul apart,

I will be fragile as long as I am holding your heart.

So if you'd be so kind, please take this note,

And listen to the words for which I wrote.

Then sing me one more song,

And I swear- I will right all of my wrongs.
