"Do you have any more inventions?", asked Gobber to his apprentice. Hiccup had lots of inventions he made over the year! Although he could only think of one right now.
"Well... I have... this!", shouted the rider, pulling out a single sword handle. "Um... That's it?", said Astrid, laughing at this great invention of his. Remember that second impression thing I talk about way earlier? It's gonna happen very soon. "Don't judge too quickly, Astrid...", said Hiccup with a smirk on his face. "Just stay back, okay?", he continued. She looked at Gobber, took a few steps back and said: "Go ahead! Work your magic!"
Hiccup pressed a button on the side of the hilt and a flaming blade came out. Gobber and Astrid both took a step back at this magnificent sword. "You... are a genius! You made that yourself?!", asked the blacksmith. He nodded and said: "And there's more to it than just the blade... but we should probably step outside... not to light the place on fire."
They followed Hiccup just outside the forge. "Ready?", asked the rider. They both nodded in excitement. He pushed another button and green Zippleback gas came out. He made a small circle of it around him and lit it up. Astrid and Gobber were amazed!
"Zippleback gas! That's genius! How do you hold it in the handle?", said Fishlegs, interrupting their little invention session.
"Well, I use this gas canister inside the handle. It's airtight, so it's stuck in there and water can't get in either! Total waterproof!", answered Hiccup.
"You just have the one canister?"
"Are you crazy?! Of course not! I have extras right here!", said Hiccup showing the others in one of his pockets.
"And that spark is created by a lighter-like system inside it?!"
"Exactly! I took my a lot of time to actually come up with the design bu-"
"Hey! Are you nerds done?", interrupted Astrid. The two brainiacs let out a small chuckle. "S-Sorry Astrid... You know me! Always fascinated by new things!", explained Fishlegs. She laughed and the boy said: "I'll see you soon, H!" "You bet!", replied Hiccup. He shook his head and looked at Astrid, smiling.
"I'll let you two talk, alone!", said Gobber, interrupting their... moment. "No! It's... It's fine. We'll just go..." "To our place... I mean away! We'll go away and just... hang out...", said Hiccup, continuing what Astrid was saying. She facepalmed herself and said: "Just... *sigh*" She took his arm and dragged him towards the forest. They headed to their hideout: the Cove.
When they arrived, Hiccup sat down next to this huge rock while Astrid just kept standing up. "Really?! 'To our place'?! That's the best you could come up with?!", shouted the girl. Strangely, he just began laughing. After some time, she did too!
"Fishlegs and Gobber are right, you know? You are a genius...", said Astrid, sitting down next to Hiccup and taking his hand. As they were gazing into each other's eyes, a familiar feminine voice interrupted them.
"Hey Thing 1 and Thing 2, mind if we join you?"
