"So... how did this business talk with Trader Johann go?", asked Astrid as soon as she saw Hiccup leaving his house.
"Very good! Now... Let's go see this Night Fury!", said Hiccup, changing the subject.
"Yeah! I wonder how it's feeling now?
"It's been with other dragons now. I think it adapted itself a bit to Berk's spirit."
"I hope so, for the sake of every house in this village."Hiccup laughed at her... joke? Yeah, let's say that... They walked together to the Dragon Hangar. When they finally arrived, Gobber was already at its doors. Hiccup frowned. Why would he be there so early in the morning?
Well, actually, it was almost noon, but in Hiccup time, it was 7.
"Gobber? Is everything okay?", asked Astrid. "Ah, finally, you're here! Well... things could be better *light chuckle*", replied the blacksmith, rubbing the back of his neck. Astrid and Hiccup looked at each other unsure.
"The thing is... The Night Fury, it doesn't like anyone but you... at least we think so... Nobody was able to get close enough to feed it yet," continued Gobber. "Alright. I'll take a look at it," answered Hiccup. The duo went inside, while the blacksmith followed.
The dragon was laying at the center of the Hangar. It looked up and saw the rider. The dragon quickly went to him and rubbed its head on his hand.
"He sure likes you!", said Astrid.
"Actually... It's a 'she'. I figured it out yesterday when she put her head against my hand," corrected Hiccup.
"Oh! Well, she seems to like you very much. She should! I mean, you were the one that showed her that she could trust us!"
"Yeah... I always thought Toothless was the only Night Fury left..."
"But it's good, right?! I mean, now, we can repopulate the whole species! Toothless isn't alone anymore!"
"I guess..."
"Why are you sad?! This is amazing!"
"What if... What if Toothless decides to leave me for her?"
"What?! No! He's your best friend! He would never do that to you! How long have you been riding with him?"
"8 years..."
"See!? 8 years is a lot! I've only been with Stormfly for 4 and she already won't leave me alone!"
"*laugh* Yeah... I guess you're right..."
"Of course I'm right! I'm always right! Don't ever forget that!"
"Well... You were wrong about me..."
"Don't bring that up!", said the girl hitting him in the arm.
"Ow! *laugh* Alright, alright! You're always right!"She smiled in victory. The Night Fury had stayed by Hiccup's side for the two Vikings' whole conversation, but when it finished, she gently walked to Astrid's side. The girl was a bit surprised by her actions. She looked at the rider with a bit of fear in her eyes.
"Um... H? Why is she coming here? What do I do?", asked Astrid.
"*laugh* Just... Put your hand on her head. I think she trusts you", answered Hiccup.
"B-But why? She didn't yesterday... Why now?"
"Well... Maybe she knows you're my friend and that you mean no harm."She did as Hiccup said and the dragon closed its eyes and lightly purred. The girl sighed in relief.
"Well look at that! It likes Astrid, too!", shouted Gobber.
"*laugh* I guess...", said the girl.
"Two Night Furies In Berk! I never would have believe in a thousand years that I'd get to see one! Let alone two!"
"Me too... Maybe there are other Night Furies out there...", said Hiccup.
"Of course! There must be! If you just look, maybe you and Toothless will find something!", said Astrid in a cheerful voice.
"What should we name it?", asked the blacksmith, pointing the female dragon.
"How about we let 'H' choose her name?"Hiccup smiled and said: "Alright... How about... Nightwing?"
