Cristiano

"Breathe Cris, breathe," Miguel coached me from the altar.

"You're making it sound as if I'm in labour," I retorted.

"Well you're about as emotional as a pregnant woman right now so I think that it's fitting," He laughed at me.

We were currently in the church which was roughly a ten minute drive outside of the busy town.

One of the most impressive things about this location is that the compound is enclosed not only by a iron wrought fence but by tall, neatly trimmed hedges that hid it from the outside and made it quite the defence against paparazzi if Ricky's false trail doesn't work.

That wasn't even my main concern at the moment.

In twenty minutes, those mahogany front doors would open and the woman of my dreams will walk down that aisle to meet me.

But for now most of the guests were outside in the courtyard and garden waiting for the side doors to open. Now that I think about it, they should have been opened by now but I don't know why Sariena was waiting to do so.

"I think I'm okay now," I raised my head up.

"Do you have your vows?" He asked, straightening a flower on the wooden pew.

"I memorized it,"But nonetheless I patted the piece of backup paper in my chest pocket incase I forgot what I meant to say.

"Then you should be fine, don't worry Cris," He cracked me a sympathetic half smile.

"Cristiano I'm going to let them open the doors now okay?" Sariena walked briskly up the side of the building, her light blue dress billowing behind her.

"Of course, go ahead," I insisted and she gave the signal to the ushers.

The panel doors slowly swung open and even more sunlight streamed into the church, hitting the stained glass windows as people began to enter.

Catalina and I had eventually settled on a seventy five person guest list and decided that all of them should be present at both the ceremony and the reception but as I watched the guests get settled I realised that the number was miniscule even for this church that was already rather small.

"Daddy!" Junior practically skipped down the aisle, holding Xavier in an awkward position in his arms.

"Junior, isn't Xavi too heavy for you?" I laughed increduously as I took his brother from his arms. Xavi smiled up at me, looking rather contented as he tried to snatch the handkerchief from my pocket.

"Yes he is but I don't mind,"Junior said cheerily,"We wanted to see you."

"Is that so?" I ruffled his hair and at the same time I saw a flash in the corner of my eye.

"You're better now right?" Victor sauntered up to us with his camera at the ready,"We don't have to sedate you right?"

"No Vic, I'm good."

"Okay so Diana called me and said that they will be here in five minutes," Adam stowed his phone into his pocket as he came our way.

"Here it comes again," I groaned as the nervousness washed over me. Xavi looked up at me with heightened curiousity as I was probably dry heaving at the moment.

"Just give him some time he'll be okay," Victor muttered to Miguel.

"Please don't pass out," Miguel implored,"I'll be right back."

They continued their conversation as they walked away, carrying Junior with them and leaving me with Xavi at the front.

"Adam please help me with the guest list," Sariena called from the back of the church. He groaned slightly but went to her nonetheless.
