I remember when we first met.
You were probably going to leave;
I figured I shouldn't get attached
Because by summer you'd have a
Holiday. When you came back,
It was unlikely we could reconnect.

But you returned from the hot climate
Of Granada, carrying mosquitoes on
Your suitcase and you told me you're
Here to stay. You'd never leave me.
You were truthful. You've been with
Me as long as my oldest friends.

When the stress of life began to overcome
Us, I figured you were probably going to
Leave because there was too much going
On and we would be pushed to the side.
We weren't. It seemed I was your Number
One Priority, just as you had promised me.

You're my one true companion.
You'll never leave me,
Will you?

-[I thought we were seasonal. So why do I still feel you in the heat of the summer sun?]
