We buried Pepper under a tree. Away from the broken city. It turns out Morin had be shot out of the sky trying to get a message to me over the wall. Lucas had held me for hours as I had sobbed and mourned for their deaths. My heart breaking and he tried to keep the pieces together. I had hit out at him in frustration then clung to his chest as is sobbed exhausted. He never once let go. Just holding me and cooed. His silent tears for me falling into my hair. We returned at sunset. There was a movement all around us as people were preparing to leave. Ember and an old man approached, caring our bags.

"Hey," ember said softly handing us the packs then taking us both into a hug. "Alma, Lucas this is Doctor Thompson, during the rebellion he managed to get in touch with someone in a colony not far from here."

The man nodded. Pushing his glasses up to speak. "A man managed to inform me of a safe haven established years ago."

Someone called out for Ember and she nodded and left. The man started to walk away then turned back. "You're Alma Chastity?"

My ears perked up at the sound of my last name. Something I hadn't heard in years. "Yes..."

He quickly walked back and placed a piece of paper in my hand. I looked up at him. "We can't read."

He sighed and took it back, pushing his glasses up he read.

"Dear Alma Bell Chastity, my name is Professor Spitzbergen and I knew your mother and father. There is so much I would like to tell you that I cannot voice in this letter, but if it were to fall into the wrong hands could land you in tremendous danger. I invite you to come see me. I may have the answers to your questions."

The doctor gave me back the paper.

Then pointed in a direction to the north east. "The bird always comes from that direction. I wish you luck."

We stood there in silence. I turned around to Lucas holding his hands. "I need answers." I said.

He smiled. "I know. That's why Hunter and I are coming with you." the wolf pup nodded coming up from behind him.

So as we want opposite ways we said goodbye to Ember and Lucas's mum. It was time for Lucas, Hunter and I to travel on to their next adventure. And as I move even thy rather away from my home I can can't help but miss it. But I'm tougher now, more than I had ever been. I've experienced loss, love, torment, but that's what life is isn't it.

To exist.

Now we just got to keep on Surviving.

The end
