Jackson stood right in front of me in all his glory. I was crushing on Ryan, but
it's Jackson Rivers.

"Umm. Hey Jackson." I was trying to act cool, to not seem desperate of course.

"So, I was wondering.. If you wanted to go out this Saturday. You know.. me and you?"

"I'll have to think about it, and I'll get back to you on that."

He flashed a toothy smile before turning around and walking away.

I closed my locker, before knowing that my hair was caught in the hinges.

"Ow." I squealed as I tried waking away.

----------------------------------

"You've barely touched your dinner." My mom flashed me a worried look.

"What's wrong?"

"Mom. Were you popular in high school?" I gave her a serious 'talk to me' look.

"Well. I was a bookworm. Your aunt Chrissy was more of a party girl."

"So you're where I get all my antisocial genes from."

My mom chuckled a bit.

"I started to branch out a bit, and that's how I met your father."

"Your dad was absolutely amazing. In person and in...."

"Mom gross!" I shouted while chuckling.

"Sometimes I forget that you're a kid. You're so responsible." She laughed as she held her head in her hands.

Her phone rang, and she quickly picked it up.

"That was Tom. He's bringing Tiara over so we can go out tonight."

"Ok." I looked down at the table, moving an air bubble around in my cheeks.

"Hey.. you'll be fine." She said softly, lifting my face up.

-------------------------------------

"Karen, my dad's waiting in the car." Tiara walked into the kitchen.

"Hey sis." I said energetically.

"Don't call me 'sis'." Tiara looked at me coldly.

I was a bit confused for a moment.

"Call me amazing sis." She burst into laughter.

"Hey 'amazing sis'" I said laughing as well.

"You wanna invite some people over?" She looked in our pantry and fridge for food.

"Sure. Who though?"

"Lets invite.. Jackson, Adrian, Sierra, and Tegan."

"You're inviting Jackson Rivers?"

"Yeah. He's my crush. A complete package."
