"You are the One. You are the owl that will save the wolves." Ruby said. "I have for seen danger in your quest, but you can always change your future. You must leave now."

"I don't understand. Why should I help the wolves?" Shadow questioned. He flapped his wings in irritation.

"If those bad wolves get loose, they could destroy the world and turn it into a prison. You must head west and follow the Owl's Eye constellation. Find the wolves. Save them!" Ruby was running around the room, gathering supplies.

"Wait! How will I save them? What should I do?!!" Shadow asked.

Ruby stopped. "Listen to your heart. You shall know what to do."

Shadow flew above the forest, his heavy cloth bag from Ruby dragging him down. Next to the forest was a huge waterfall, the spray of water hitting Shadow from even far away.

"What....is in.....this thing?!!" Shadow exclaimed, gasping between words.

Ruby had said Shadow had to give the old wolf leader an ancient amulet, that would show him that Shadow was the One. But it was heavier than Shadow, and all the other stuff Ruby put in there was about three times heavier than him!

Shadow felt the cloth bag slipping in his talons. He tried to pull the bag up to his beak so he could carry it easier, but he couldn't and the weight of the bag threw him down.

"Ahhhh!!!" Shadow shouted as he plunged closer and closer to the trees.  Shadow prepared himself for hitting the ground.

"Ahh! Oof! Ee! AHH!!!" Shadow yelped as he crashed through branches, breaking them one by one as he fell to the ground.

Suddenly, a tree branch went back and back when Shadow fell on it, but it didn't break. Instead, it threw him forward like a catapult, heading towards the waterfall.

"No no no no NOOOO!!!" Shadow yelled as he was thrown through the air and into the waterfall.

Splash! Shadow hit the icy blue water, the coolness of the water scaring him enough to drop the bag.

Shadow opened his eyes underwater. He saw a blurry purple circle drifting deeper and deeper into the blue void.

Shadow lunged upwards for air. He gasped with relief before plunging back into the water. He swam as hard as he could, the water pulling the amulet down. Suddenly, he lunged for it one last time, with his beak, and he caught it! He quickly swam up and burst to the surface.

Breathing hard, and shivering hard, Shadow crawled out of the pool of water by the waterfall. He shook himself, even though it didn't have much of a difference.

"I'll have to sleep here tonight." Shadow sighed. His wings were too wet to even fly up a tree. Shadow crawled over to the nearest rock and laid against it, already half asleep as the sun began to rise from behind the mountains where the wolves lied.
