Y/N POV:
I was about to go to my softball game. We were in the finals. This was it! The big game. And singing the National Anthem, was Why Don't We. I've always loved them, especially Jonah Marais. I was so excited and nervous! As me and my friend, y/f/n, were walking we saw them. They were talking to a girl. Must be a fan. When we walked by I waved and they stared at us. I blushed as we made our way to the pit. We group huddled and reviewed the play. "1,2,3 LETS GO!" We all screamed. We sat down as we heard a man over the announcement. "And now singing our national anthem, Why Dont We!"
They sang it beautiful! When they finished we all clapped. We ran out on the field and people cheered. I smiled. I saw Why Don't We. I smiled up at them. It was my turn to hit. I got up on the plate and did a couple beats. The umpire behind me kept laughing. The first hit, missed. Second, missed. Third, I regained focus. I tipped my hat. The pitcher nodded and got ready. He threw the ball. I whipped my bat and the sound of the crack, baseball hitting the bat, was music to my ears. "Going going it's gone!" The announcer said. I smiled and ran. 1st,2nd,3rd, home run! My team clapped me on my back. Soon enough it was my turn again. This time the bases were loaded. I nodded and the pitcher threw the ball. I hit it and ran. I made it to second base. The 3rd base men, ran home and 2nd did too. The guy had the ball as I ran to 3rd. I was about to run home when my teammates screamed no. I saw the guy who had my ball. We glared and I ran. I slide and my foot hit the base before the guys mitt could. I smiled. "SHE MADE IT!! ITS SAFE!!" The announcer said. My coach came running out on field with my other teammates. "How did you make it?!" He said stunned. I shrugged and my friend, y/f/n said "it's the skill!" I laughed and took a microphone. "It's not the skill. It's the will!" Everyone cheered. We won, 9-8. It was close. As we walked off field, Jonah, tapped my shoulder. "Hey you were really good out there!" He said nervously. I smiled and hugged him. "Thanks J!" I said. He smiled and we exchanged numbers. "Bye, beautiful!" He said heading back to the boys. I waved and smiled. Today was a great day.❤️
