Vaughn's POV

Chase didn't show up to school for the rest of the week. I began to worry, knowing the last time I saw him was when he kissed me, so I couldn't help but blame myself.

Theo, in an effort to cheer me up, invited me over to his house on Saturday.

I stood in front of his door, feeling uneasy. I knocked gently, but hopefully loud enough that it'd be heard.

Luckily, it was. Theo pulled the door open, a charming smile on his face.

"Hey! Come in!" He bellowed, radiating joy, as usual. He was wearing a pair of light orange jeans and a white shirt with "too hot" written in bright orange lettering. He had his usual round glasses perched on his nose.

I stepped into his house, giving him a small smile as I did so.

He led me upstairs and to his room. It was just as vibrant as I thought it would be.

He had bright yellow walls with blue accents around the corners. His bed was decorated with a blue comforter covered in gold stars. He had pride flags on one shelf, with pictures of him and some other people at a pride parade. I envied him. I always wanted to go to a pride parade.

"Wow, you're room is so..." I trailed, looking for the right word.

"Gay?" He chuckled.

"I was going to say bright, but sure. Gay works."

Theo smirked. "Well, sit down. It's not contagious."

I laughed at that, sitting down and mumbling, "I may have already caught it."

"What was that?" Theo asked, a smirk on his face that showed he knew what I said.

"Nothing," I replied with a grin.

"Why, Vaughn, do you have a secret?"

"No." I looked away shyly, but I knew it did nothing but confirm.

"Yes you do! Tell me, tell me, tell me!" Theo begun to shake my arm, bouncing every every word.

"I don't have anything to tell," I insisted, trying to pry my arm out of his hold. I couldn't help but laugh. Theo was a child, no matter how mature he could act, or how bright and strong he dressed.

"Please, Vaughn! Come on, tell me! I won't tell a soul!"

"No, I--"

I was cut off when I turned to see Theo making the saddest kicked puppy face in the world. I rolled my eyes, sighing hard.

"Fine!" I huffed. Theo grinned widely, hopping into a tall sitting position and waiting for me to speak. "Me and Chase... k-kissed. And now I'm kind of worried that he didn't show up to school because he regretted it. But you cannot tell him I told you!"

"Yeah, yeah whatever, he kissed you?!" Theo, choosing only to listen to what he was interested in, squealed. "When? Why? Where? How?"

"One question at a time please."

"Where?"

"In the school hallway."

"When?"

"Lunch on Wednesday."

"Why?" I huffed, rolling my eyes at having to answer another question. He was like a child that didn't understand a certain concept. Annoying and consistent.

"I don't know! He was upset and he asked me if I remembered when I was upset on Tuesday and wanted to get away and do something crazy. When I said I did, he turned around and kissed me."

Theo gasped over-dramatically. "Wow... ugh, I owe Honor five dollars."

I furrowed my brows and Theo smirked. "I bet that you'd make the first move."
