Chapter 27

Kim Taehyung POV.
"Sungjin. Let them go." I said.

Once I spoke up, the woman on the first left shouted, "Taehyung! Y-You're here!"

I formed my eyebrows together due to confusion. Is that Hyejin? How can she remember me?

"Hyejin! Are you okay? STAY BACK!" I shouted back.

Sungjin looked at me deeply in the eyes and slowly started walking towards me unweaponed.

At first I thought he was going to knock me out but then he quickly took my gun and twisted it over to his direction, pointing it into his forehead.

"I'm going to pull this trigger in a second now. This is all what you want right? Me? Gone?" he shouted louder than I did earlier.

I let my hand take Sungjin's arm slowly without saying a word and he pushed it hard with the gun he's holding.

"Sungjin. Don't do this. Killing yourself won't make you a better person in our eyes. Just stop." I said.

All of a sudden, Jungsoo ran towards Sungjin and BANG! He shot Sungjin on the thighs. I thought it was the end but Sungjin shot him back,

straight to the head.

I ran behind Jungsoo and caught him. "WHAT ARE YOU ALL DOING? GO GET HIM!" I shouted to all the cops behind me. They all ran to Sungjin and handcuffed him, taking him to the police van. Some of the cops came back and called the ambulance. They were on their way.

The ambulance got to the warehouse a minute or two. They took Jungsoo with them and the other cops including me rescued the victims. I immediately ran to Hyejin and hugged her tight like I never did before.

"Are you okay? I missed you so much." I said with tears rolling down my cheeks.

She started crying too. I patted her back gently. "Hey, I'm here. Don't worry. Our family will be back to how it was again." I said.

"I missed youㅡ"

and she fell into my arms.

"Wait! Wait! Ambulance! There's one more patient!" I shouted. I brought Hyejin inside the ambulance and held her hands tight. "Stay with me."

Kim Taeguk POV.
"Let's take the bus." I said to halmeoni.

"We don't have money." halmeoni replied back.

"I can get from home when we get there." I said. "Let's go."

We both rode the bus until we arrived home. Good thing Jinwoo didn't come in our way. I wonder how's everything going in Seoul. I miss all of them so much.

A few hours later
Once we got home I took halmeoni with me to the police station. Everyone in there was surprised because they all knew about all my appa's situations. "Where's appa? Is he back?" I asked all of them while standing in the middle of the room with halmeoni on my hands.

"He's on his way back to Seoul. He has your eomma with him."  one police officer said.

I relaxed my breath after I heard what he said. I hope nothing comes on their way.

"How about you? How are you back now?" the police officer with the only different uniform in the room spoke up. It was the chief.

"I was stuck with my halmeoni's sister in a garage. The person who trapped us was a man called Jinwoo. He looked kinda young." I said.

"Jinwoo?" the chief asked. "He's on the records as Sungjin's son. Sungjin was the person who took your mother, and your brother's friend."

"Plus, Jinwoo is on the records like I said, but also as your brother's friend cousin. But your brother's friend, Seohyun admitted that she never met him. She never expected him to be her cousin." the chief said. "There is some feud going on here. In my mind, I think your family was accidentally or maybe not, gotten into this fight."

"So you're saying that we're not supposed to be in this situation right now?" I asked.

"Maybe yes or maybe not."

Kim Taehyung POV.
"Officer Dwi, I'm sorry I didn't go on the spot but I had to save my wife." I said.

"I understand. It's fine. She's fine now. But after she will be recovered we still need to ask her about everything that she saw while being on Sungjin's side." Officer Dwi replied. "I'll be going now. I need to investigate Seohyun." he patted me once on the shoulders hard.

Once he got out, I immediately sat down on Hyejin's bed and held her hands. "Please wake up. I'm right here."

The doctor came in and I asked him how Hyejin was doing.

"She'll be remembering some stuff after she wakes up since it's only dementia. But she will forget them after sometimes. But don't worry because she will remember them again, until she's literally fully recovered, she will remember everything." the doctor replied.

"How long will it take?" I asked.

"A month or so."

I thanked the doctor and he got out. That's when Hyejin woke up.

She slowly opened her eyes and smiled at me. A tear went out from her eyes. She touched my cheek gently while holding my hand with her other hand.

"I missed you so much Kim Taehyung." she said to me. It's been a long time since she called me and touched me with her hands.

"I missed you too Kim Hyejin." I replied.

She sat up slowly and kissed me on the lips. I kissed her back. I missed her so much.

My heart is beating so fast that it would explode.
It's so happy that it would explode.
And it's beating so slow now that it's enjoying the feeling.
Or maybe it's because it just exploded,
with another heart.
