When I walked downstairs my mom smiled. "Wow, you've grown up!" Her eyes started glossing over and I couldn't help roll my eyes. "19, mom. My birthday is tomorrow." She looked down, trying not to cry. I giggled. My mom was being ridiculous. My aunt came in with her daughter, and they both shared the pale brown hair. I hugged my little cousin, the 10 year old who had fashion sense. For my birthday she would always get me cute clothes. Her hair was slicked back, making it seem wet. She wore a purple dress and purple flats, and she looked better than her mom. "Cryssie, so good to see you. And happy birthday." She grinned, flashing me pearly white teeth. I smiled back.
