The one year rental (Loki and Thor- as brothers)

Blackout: part 1

"So, we heard that you guys like to do movie nights" Tony says as he holds up a DVD of what he considers to be a classic film, everyone is just secretly surprised that he owns DVDs.

Loki scowls "he like's to do movie nights, I like to read in my room" he barely notices when Wanda looks up at him and smiles, not a full smile, an unnoticeable smile.

Tony rolls his eyes and goes to put the film on anyway "well, it's not just for you Vikings, there are a few fossils in the room who need educating"

The billionaire looks quickly at Steve and Bucky before going back to his DVD player, Bucky points to himself with a questioning look "me? Oh I've already seen this film" Loki's noticed that Bucky is a lot more verbal now, something must be pushing him out of his shell.

Natasha laughs from the kitchenette, she's the one who recommended it to him, Tony however is not so amused, he spent an hour picking out the perfect movie that everyone would enjoy "well then you'll see it again"

Just as the microwave beeps to tell Natasha the popcorn is ready, every light in the room goes dark, no light fills the large space and all that can be heard is Tony's voice "shit"

"Tony..." a female voice growls, Loki can tell it's Natasha.

"Hold on guys, this has been happening a lot lately, it'll come on any second now"

Everyone looks around the room sceptically, not that they can see anything. They wait patiently for the lights but the only one that can be seen is Tony's arc reactor "Tony" Steve voices in the dark.

"Any second now"

"Tony..."

"Any second..."

"Tony, they're not coming back on"

For a moment the room falls silent, Loki watches the arc reactor carefully before hearing it's owner whisper "damn" under his breath.

The trickster sighs and opens his hand, little green lights emerge from it and float slowly up to the ceiling, illuminating the room in a pale green glow, everyone is now just about visible. Wanda looks up at the green swirls that now decorate the ceiling, admiring Loki's work. She opens her palms and lets the red tendrils travel throughout the building, giving every room a glow incase everybody doesn't stay in this one.

Loki looks warmly at her, it's nice to see someone else with the craft, someone he has something in common with "uh... right" Tony says looking around at the eery green glow "thanks, I'm gonna go see what the damage is, Vision, Bruce, you're coming with me"

"Aw, scared there are monsters down there Tony?" Natasha teases, her lips pursed.

Tony scoffs and waits for his accomplices to join him, not giving Natasha the satisfaction of a reply. The three men head deep into the building, leaving Thor, Loki, Wanda, Natasha, Bucky and Steve alone. Thor speaks first, he's the only one not slightly creeped out by Loki's magic, the green glow is almost unsettling "well, what is it we do now?"

While Tony, Bruce and Vision are off fixing whatever is broken, the rest play games to amuse themselves, first it's charades, which most everybody sucks at besides Natasha. The six split into teams of three and each try to mimic their topic as clearly as possible, without using words. Thor, Loki and Wanda, are at the same disadvantage as the other team, they each have two men in them who have no idea what half of the topics are. It's only by chance that a war subject comes up that makes Steve's team the winners.

After that they play pretty much any game that comes to mind before everyone gets bored and disbands into their own little groups to chat with. Bucky, Natasha and Steve have a short conversation before Steve goes off to check on Tony and the others, from then on the two former assassins start to speak in Russian, which Loki finds annoying because it means he can longer eavesdrop. He only listens in because he can tell there's something unspoken between the two of them, something neither of them seems to know is there.

Loki sits quietly, while Thor tells Wanda of the wonders of space after she tells him that she'd like to go traveling one day, however he didn't catch on that she meant on Earth. Then Thor's stomach starts to rumble with a ravenous hunger and so resigns himself to the kitchen, where he raids the fridge and every cupboard, leaving Loki alone with Wanda "do you miss it?" She asks out of nowhere "Space, I mean"

The alien considers this, first considering that he is in fact an alien, and then her question "yes, I had more status up there" he misses being royalty, having everyone cower in fear and respect when he walked by.

The girl bites her lip, a tantalising sight for Loki "so, you'll go back, when this year is over?"

This question takes him by surprise, what reason would he have to stay? "I'm not sure. I'd stay if I found a reason to"

"I have good news and bad news" Tony's voice comes at a great interruption, but Loki is still interested in what he has to say, has he figured it out? "I've managed to divert some power to a few of the sleeping areas, and some other rooms. The bad news... we're locked in"

Bucky's eyes shoot round, he doesn't like the idea of being trapped "what?"

"When the power went out every door to the outside world... locked" everyone shoots daggers at him "it's a safety precaution. To be honest I forgot it was there..."

"You can fix it though? I have a date with Jane tomorrow morning" Thor says through a mouthful of food.

"Yeah but it won't be until morning. Look, worst case is you all have to bunk here, it's not like I slaved away to give you all rooms or anything. Except Loki, you'll have to bunk with Thor"

Loki grimaces at the thought, his brothers snoring is unbearable "what? You don't have spare rooms?"

"Uh no. Even if I did, I kinda don't trust you to be on your own" before Loki can retort Tony turns to the others "Wanda you'll probably have to bunk with Nat, Bucky I guess you'll be in with Cap" he notices everyone's annoyed expressions "hey come on, this'll be fun"
