At 6 pm he had to call a taxi to drive him to the airport and I insisted in going there with him. A few minutes later the taxi driver came and we got into the car. And as always Shawn held open my door so I could get in. How much would I miss this? We made a stop at his hotel, so he could get all of his stuff. And after that we had a 30 minute drive to make, but I was thankful for every second I had left to be with him. He held my hand the whole time and I leaned against his shoulder and closed my eyes trying to suck in the scent of his perfume, so I would be able to remember it during the time, he wouldn't be with me. "Don't be sad, my love. I'll try to come back as soon as possible.", he whispered in my ear and I could feel his breath on my cheek. He kissed my forehead to calm me down and layed his arms around me. We stayed like that for the rest of the way and when we arrived at the airport he grabbed his bags and I went with him as far as I was allowed to. He pulled me into a tight hug and gave me one last long kiss. "Call me as soon as you're home.", I told him. "Ok, I'll do that. I love you." "I love you, too." And then I had to let his hand go. I had to let him go. And it was the hardest thing I had ever done in my life. It ripped me apart. I watched him go away heavy hearted and with tears in my eyes until I couldn't see him anymore.
Back home it already felt like I hadn't seen him in ages and I missed him like crazy. The only thing, that could cheer me up, was his name lighting up on my phone screen as he was calling me. "Hey. Was the flight alright?" - "Would have been better, if you had been with me, but it was ok." I heard a sad tone in his voice. "I miss you already." - "I do, too, honey. I gotta go now. I have an interview scheduled in about an hour. I love you." - "I love you more. Call me again whenever you're able to." - "I will. Bye." - "Bye." I noticed how just hearing his voice had made me calm down and miss him even more at the same time.
