You watched as Envy revealed to Mustang who really killed Maes Hughes. You had your suspicions that it had been him, but Envy just confirmed it.

Envy cackled loudly as the others waited in silence.

"Congratulations, Colonel Mustang. You've finally hunted down your culprit." Envy said as he signalled to himself. He once again began laughing.

"You're saying that you killed Hughes? I doubt a moron like you could pull that off." Mustang commented as Envy continued laughing.

"Hah! Moron?" Envy said after his laughter died down. Suddenly, he began transforming into none other than Gracia Hughes, Maes' wife. "Tell me who the real moron is here because I don't think it's me! I prefer to use that term for someone who falls for a cheap trick like this." Your eyes widened. "Haha! You should see your face! Oh, you're not gonna believe this, but that was the same look on Hughes' face when I shot him! The utter shock, the dumb confusion! You could see every emotion he felt as his own wife shot him!" Envy, as Gracia, happily moaned at the thought of it. "It. Was. Great!"

"That's enough!" Mustang growled. "You were stupid enough to confess and even more stupid to boast. Everything you've said is fuel on your funeral pyre. So then, I think I'll begin," Mustang tugged on his glove, "by burning out your tongue!"

You looked at Mustang and then quickly over at Envy. You knew he killed Hughes and you knew he was a Homunculus, but you were worried. Something inside of you didn't want to see Envy in any pain. Your heart ached at the thought, but if you tried to stop him, you'd be betraying Mustang and your friends. You swore to never hurt your friends in any way, but what about Envy? Sure, you and him weren't friends, but you often got this feeling whenever you saw him. A warm feeling. Maybe it was crazy, but it wasn't a feeling you could control. You didn't know what you would do. You were in the middle of trying to decide when,

"Stand down, all of you." Mustang instructed. "I'm dealing with him on my own. This one's mine and mine alone." You looked at Mustang slightly worried.

One of the chimeras spoke up, "Well, you heard him. Let's keep moving and find this father guy."

Envy stretched out his hand to block the others. "I don't remember giving you permission to leave." He said. "I still owe you some pain and misery for what you-AAHH!" Mustang snapped his fingers and burned Envy's mouth.

"Keep your eyes on me, Envy. Our conversation is the only one that should concern you." Mustang said. As Envy regenerated, he also changed back to his normal form. Mustang continued, "It's kind of interesting how quickly the tongue can be rendered to a bubbling grease. It's surprising how easy it burns, isn't it?"

"Lieutenant, you really think the two of you-" Edward began before being cut off.

"Edward, just go!" Hawkeye commanded. "We can handle this one."

"Are you sure?" Edward questioned.

"The Lieutenant said go, Elric." Mustang said harshly. "You've got more important matters to deal with.

"He's right, Ed. Now let's go." The gorilla chimera said, coming and putting his hand on Ed's head then pulling him along with the others following. You stayed behind, just in case.

"Hold on!" Edward cried out as he began walking by himself.

Envy glared at them as they walked past him. "Damn it." He said slightly quietly as he looked over at Mustang. "So, you've been rather dogged in your pursuit of Hughes' killer." Envy said as he stood up. He began transforming. "You're a true friend to the very end! RAAH!" Envy screamed as large arms burst out of his sides, he turned green and grew in size greatly. He had transformed into his true form.

"Keep your distance, Lieutenant." Mustang instructed as he stuck out his left arm to hold her back.

"Out of respect for your tireless quest for vengeance, I'll give the fight you're looking for." Envy said, his voice distorted and souls on his body screaming and crying out. "I'm not exactly capable of treading lightly in this body so you better give it al-" Mustang snapped his fingers, burning Envy's eyes. Crying out in true agony, Envy covered his eyes and waved around as his eyes burned.

Still standing with his arms extended and his fingers ready to snap, Mustang said, "What's it like having the fluid inside of yours eyes boiled?" He continued as Envy still cried out in pain, "I'd imagine it might sting a little."

"Damn you!" Envy yelled just before Mustang snapped his fingers again, burning all of Envy this time. Envy was enveloped in flames, crying out as his entire body was burned.

"I can't believe you gave me a bigger target." Mustang commented. "Did you think that size would increase your chance of winning? You idiot! Stand back up, you monster. Go on and regenerate yourself. You'll suffer a thousand deaths before I'm done." Envy stood up, red sparks flying as he regenerated. He looked down at Mustang who was still holding his pose, ready to burn Envy again. You watched, horrified. The screams of agony from Envy killed you inside. You couldn't take it! But...did you have the courage to stand up to Mustang and betray him by protecting your enemy? You couldn't stand by and let Envy suffer even if he had killed Hughes. You looked at Mustang and saw cold, focused eyes. He was angry. He was furious. You looked at him with concern. Was Mustang still in control? Or had his thirst for vengeance taken over?

Suddenly and quickly, Envy used his tail to destroy part of the wall next to him. Stone crumbled and dust filled the room. When the dust began to clear, Envy was gone.

"You coward!" Mustang had yelled and run off.

"Colonel!" Lieutenant shouted after him.

"You wait here, Lieutenant! You as well, (Y/N)!" Mustang said as he ran off.

"We have to go after him!" You argued. You began running after Mustang, ignoring his instructions to wait for him. You had to stop him! You couldn't let him hurt Envy!

{Hey guys. A/N. So I literally listened to the scenes in episode 53 to get the words accurate. I hope you like that kind of work cause I'm extremely lazy and it was so much work. Anyway, I'm not going to follow the scenes perfectly anymore. I will be straying from the path from the actual episode so it won't be perfect or accurate or the same. It'll be different and new. Just thought y'all should know. Also, it took me like 2 days to do this. I'm so lazy and so relieved I don't have to quote it anymore although I am proud of myself. The next part/chapter/thingy will be up soon. For now, enjoy this.}
