When I found out Mercy tried to kill herself I felt really bad. Believe it or not I've come to like her as a best friend. Mykie on the other hand hasn't seem to forgiven her for being part of the reason I got arrested. For the last 4 days, Mykie, Jae, and I have been getting along. Surprisingly. Mykie and I, we've been getting along VERY well. *insert winky face*. TMI? Probably. Right now I'm at the hospital about to visit Mercy. Mykie refused to come. I knock on the door softly. "Come in!!" Cora's voice calls out. I walk in slowly. Why did I bring flowers? "Oh? Why are you here?" Mercy narrows her eyes at me. "Well, I came to visit you." I hand her the roses I bought. She stares at them like they're a foreign object. "Really? Black roses?" She has a slight smile on her face. I shrug my shoulders. "You seem like the type of girl who likes black." I admit. She snorts. "I'm more of a 'red' type of girl." She hands the flowers to Cora. Noted. "Lets cut to the chase. What made you come visit me? Did Mykie send you here because she's too much of a bitch to come see me herself?" Mercy has a glint of darkness in her eyes. Here we go. "I'm going to be honest with you, Mercy. Mykie really doesn't like you. I doubt she's going to visit you, unless Cora stays here with you the entire time you're in the hospital." I explain while crossing my arms. Cora's eyes have an angry hint to them. "Mykie needs to get the stick out of her ass and grow up." She clenches her fists. I sigh. "Just give her time." I sit in the chair next to Mercy. Mercy stays quiet. "I thought she was my friend." She admits under her breath. Wait...What? Cora looks dumbfounded too. Mercy grips the covers. "When she said she was only friends with me because of Cora, I really took that to heart." Her voice was starting to crack. She clears her throat. "I-I really thought Mykie was m-my friend." She takes a deep breath. My heart squeezes with guilt. "I consider you my friend, Mercy. Mykie may not see you as one but, please don't make her to be a bad guy. I promise she's a good person." I reassure. Mercy scoffs and blinks multiple times to make the tears in her eyes disappear. "Yeah, right. I don't care anymore. She's made it perfectly clear she doesn't like me." She spits. Damn. What can I do to make Mercy forgive Mykie? "Just because she's a good person to you, doesn't mean she's a good person to others." Cora interjects. "She's my best friend, yet she doesn't like my girlfriend." She stares down at the floor. Mercy sniffles and coughs. Cora feels her forehead. "You're burning up." She presses the button for the doctor. Uh oh. I just got a bad feeling in my gut. Mercy looks very pale and her eyes have black circles underneath them. I knew something was wrong. The doctor comes in, and as soon as he sees Mercy he immediately calls for a nurse to help him out. "I need an iv drip now. Her body is fighting off an infection and in her current condition it could really affect her well being." He says to the nurse urgently. She nods her head and runs out the room. Wait, wait, wait. Infection? She could die? My head starts spinning at all the information being thrown at me at once. Cora starts crying. She's a mess. I can tell she hasn't gotten any sleep. Has she eaten at all? Mercy holds Cora's hand. "I'm gonna be ok." She reassures. Cora shakes her head. "You don't know that!! You look terrible!!" She cries while hugging Mercy. I'm sitting here with a headache, trying to make sense of things. How could she get an infection from a concussion and some broken bones? I mean, it's possible but, it's rare. Something doesn't feel right about this. Cora said she was completely fine yesterday on the phone. Hmm. The nurse comes back in the room with an iv bag. The doctor takes it and hooks it up into Mercy's arm. "We'll have to do some tests to figure out what the infection is and how it got into your system." He explains while crossing his arms. Was she poisoned and is dying slowly? Or is she just sick? Shit. I don't know. Think, Yukimura. Think. Mercy motions me to come over to her. She makes me lean down to her. "Lacey poisoned me." She whispers in my ear. I knew something wasn't right. "How do you know?" I ask. Cora had left to go the restroom. "When I got hit by the car I blacked out right before they could put me on the stretcher. I saw a figure standing beside me that looked like Lacey. That's all I remember. Plus, the witch told me it was her, confirming my suspicions." She answers, still whispering. Damn it. I grit my teeth. "Luckily, she said the poison isn't lethal...As long as the doctors find out which poison it is before time runs out." Her voice gets smaller as she realizes how dire the situation really is. "Oh shit. I'm gonna die if the doctors don't hurry up." She holds her head. We need Milo. She can help us, but how are we going to reach her? Cora walks back in. "What's going on?" She narrows her eyes. Mercy gives me a 'don't say a word.' glare. I nod my head. "Nothing. She just wanted to tell me something about Mykie." I lie and stuff my hands in my pocket. Cora tears up again. Oh no. "Now you're keeping secrets from me!!!" She cries. Mercy looks sad. "No, Cora. We're not keeping a secret from you." I lie again. Cora stays quiet and wipes her eyes. "Leave." She tells me. Great. She's mad at me. "Cora, don't st-" "LEAVE!!" She interrupts. I sigh. "Ok." I say under my breath. As I'm walking out the door she grabs my arm. "I know you and Mercy are lying to me, Yukimura." She whispers, then letting me go. Why am I not surprised? I look back at Mercy and she looks worse than before. She's dying slowly from the poison. I need to do something. Cora slams the door in my face. How can I reach Milo? All you have to do is call upon me and I'll be here. Did you not think that I have the same ability as my mother? N-No. Of course not. The only reason my mother can only talk to Mercy is because she made a deal with Mercy's mother that she could only talk to her daughter and no one else. Why my mother accepted, I don't know. Great. Mercy was poisoned by Lacey and I need your help to figure out what it is before she dies. Roger that. I'm already looking. This is gonna take everything I have. Lets do this...
