Broken

(Verse 1)

Have you ever felt the feeling you get
When the thing you loved the most
Shoves you off a cliff

And you realize as you're falling to your death
That you could have stopped, should have stopped
Before you plummeted

Regret follows heartbreak because you know
That you should have showed the love
That you should have shown

You reach out your hand for one last chance
But forgiveness is a million miles away
From your hand

(Chorus)

What more do they want you to say?
You're sorry
You're sorry
What can you do to make it up to them?
You're sorry
You're sorry
Knocking on the door, but they won't come
You're sorry
You're sorry
Staring at their back, but they don't look back
You're sorry
You're sorry

(Verse 2)

Nothing is even happy anymore
Your thoughts just follow you
Through every door

What you could have changed before the end
Reliving every moment of it
Again and again

They hate you now, and why not?
You broke their heart far slower
With a tightening knot

To get over it, you need a bridge
But the bridge, it's what pushed you
Off the edge

(Chorus)

So what more do they want you to say?
You're sorry
You're sorry
What can you do to make it up to them?
You're sorry
You're sorry
Knocking on the door, but they won't come
You're sorry
You're sorry
Staring at their back, but they don't look back
You're sorry
You're sorry

(Bridge)

The pain you never knew you could feel
Drips down your chest
Something's missing, this isn't real
It's emptiness
Who said that it was something to steal
And leave this mess
You'll do anything to change how they feel
You tell me the rest

(Chorus)

What more do they want you to say?
You're sorry
You're sorry
What can you do to make it up to them?
You're sorry
You're sorry
Knocking on the door, but they won't come
You're sorry
You're sorry
Staring at their back, but they don't look back
You're sorry
You're sorry

So I was watching the music video for Thief by Ansel Elgort (at 1 in the morning) and stopped it in the middle because I got inspired to write this. So this song has that kind of feel (the music, not the music video). They're kind of about similar things... but not really.

(Also Ansel's voice reminds me of Brendon Urie's (which just autocorrected to "Brandon Urine's") and it's really pretty.)

So this is one I actually probably will put to music because I hear the melody and because it came from deep down. Deeeeep. O_O

(Yeah I'm tired but emotions make me write so...)
