Adelaide

i calmed alongside the rain,
slowly, then all at once.

but only for the time being.

i walked alongside ashton to the café down the road.

because he convinced me,
and i was freezing,
so i guess i owed him this.

for he stopped the thunderstorm for me, so i could share my time with him.

i walked through the door,
held open by him,
without even a thank you.

a simple nod would suffice.

we were sat at a booth,
opposite ends,
him and i both.

the coffee between my palms felt like the rays of sun through the clouds out the window.
warming up the patches that had gone cold,

drying the tears on the pavement.

"i didn't quite
catch your name."

                    I'd be sharing
                   my time and my
                           name.

                                   "adelaide."

and now he knew two things about me.

another restless night, so here's a 3 am update...

sleep has to come eventually,
keep working at it,
