Marawi: A Dauntless Assault

Amidst Diverse Faith

Singing praise songs bringing heaven on earth

The goodness of God whom we celebrate

Living His words in every sanctifying attempt

Reflecting virtues to many and canonical traits

But are His words really that powerful and moving?

Are His stories imitative and convincing?

Are His promises of better life are worth hoping?

For this tremendous Calvary, I found no god who is helping

If their stand is for intensive territory of faith

Then why through killing which is out of their teaching?

If their aim is to spread Islam and strengthening it

Then why halting freedom which is out of forcing?

But in one Muslim home  interfered with Christian nanny

Faith is not an issue for love surpasses the differences

In a company where Christians and Muslims work together

Harmonious relationship exists out of their distinctiveness

Muslim mom taught her what to speak on them

That dad who's solicitude on them like his children

Tipped them with right gestures and Islamic terms

To avoid prolonging their Gehenna experience

From a small hole, I saw a Muslim boy opening the door for others

I saw also a nun cuddling a baby Muslim to make him feel better

Maybe life is really unfair for seeing them in such irrepressible pain

But miracles happened in spite of differences in views and teachings

And through time all queries answered in sapient

And through time God appears in prudence

And from this time I won't forget His immense existence

For beyond those war-freak minds kindness reigns

Knowing that my life will probably end in the midst of war

And might couldn't achieved the profession I always dreamed of

But the greatest lessons I could bear out of these painful scars

Amidst diverse faith, only God knows what kind of a person we are
