Chapter 6

i woke up in the middle of the night to a loud crashing sound.

i shot up and look around, realizing i was in my own room.

i rubbed my eyes open and checked the time

1:30 am

it read and i got up.

i slowly walked down the stairs to see shattered glass on the floor.

i carefully walked to where i heard sounds.

i quietly peeked my head into the kitchen.

i saw my dad with some girl in the kitchen.

they began to laugh and drink.
i scrunch up my nose and began to back away slowly.

i stepped on a piece of glass and screeched.

my dad quickly came towards me and picked me up.

"dad, i'm so sorry. i just heard a noise and then i step in a piece of glass"
i said trying to keep him calm.

i smelt the hard liquor on his breath when he spoke.

"spying is not nice"

he then put me down on the counter.
he carefully removed the glass from my foot and pushed me off of the counter.

i fell down and looked up at him.

"what's the point of helping me if you're just going to hurt me right after?"

"shut up isabella. go back up to your room."

"no dad, who's that girl that was here? where is she?"
i screamed and went into the living room to see her sitting on the couch.

"what is this dad? are you cheating on mom?"

instead of saying anything, he slapped me and pointed to the stairs.

i slowly walked back into my room and texted zach.

i'm going to kill my dad

he'd legit kill me.

i hear him coming up the stairs

i gave up on trying to text zach.
he most likely fell asleep.

i didn't realize i was crying until i tasted the salty tears falling down my face.

Mom

when are you coming back?

i don't know. why

i thought my dad was going to come into my room but he didn't.

i heard a door slam shit and i jumped.
i brought the blanket closer to me body and snuggled into it.

"hey sorry i feel asleep last night, i was tired."
zach exclaimed walking to the cafeteria with me.

"it's fine zach, really"
i said with a smile.

"what did your dad even do?"

"he was cheating on my
mom"

i said and looked,
playing with my fingers.

"that's horrible bella, i'm so sorry."

"it's okay"

"hey isabella"
vanessa screamed running up to me.

"yes?"

"me and anthony broke up"
she said and started to cry

"why?"
zach chimed in.

"because he said i wasn't his type anymore."

zach stood up and grabbed vanessa's face.

he wiped the tears off and whispered
"he wasn't worth your time"

i smiled at how caring zach was.

"thanks zach"
vanessa said and looked at me.

"where's emily?"
i chimed in.

"she didn't come to school today."

"oh that sucks"

"why?"

"just wondering, you're actually sitting with me."

"omg bella you know i love you"
he said and sat on my lap.

vanessa and i both laughed.

"you're such a dork"
i said.

"thanks thanks. i know. i'm just perfect."

"sure zach, anyways. can you sing me a song?"

i said looking up at zach. his voice was just so precious and i'd die just to hear it all the time.

"sure what song?"

i looked at vanessa and she nodded.

"life of the party"

"ah your celebrity crush, shawn mendes?"

"whatever zach"
i said blushing.

"anyways if you're going to become the next shawn mendes, then you need to prepare yourself"

"how is singing shawn mendes going to prepare me for anything?"

"because shawn's hot and talented."
vanessa screamed.

"fine"
he said and smirked

he began to hum and then sing life of the party.

i stared at him, to me he was just beautiful.

"were only friends my ass"
vanessa whispered in my ear as zach was signing.

i rolled my eyes and stared at him.
and oh boy was i jealous of emily.
