• Before light there was dark. •
A long time ago, while the Sky was ruled by Gods, Earth was lead by Monsters.
Those monsters were obscure creatures. They lacked humanity and didn't know better than to feed on fear, greed, and ambition. They were known as Tenebris. Darkness coated them as they roamed through Earth, destroying everything within their path and creating chaos among themselves. Earth knew nothing but pain and suffering, or so they thought.
Tenebris' were the only population living on Earth so they were free to do as they pleased and they were powerful. Their freedom and power were something that arose several questions during meetings of the High Council. Besides the gods couldn't figure out how did they feed themselves in order to stay alive. There was none on Earth capable of greed nor capable of ambition, so how could the species thrive?
Truth was that the Gods feared for the particular planet. No one knew of what or how those monsters were born nor what shape they took. The darkness that surrounded them made it impossible to see what their body was made of and identify any weaknesses. They could have been made of the water that ran within the oceans, the winds that rattled the leaves through seasons or perhaps, the sun that illuminated Earth's surface.
There was a particular God, Nocte--Night in the ancient language, made of the darkest dust of the other side of the moon. He was dark, rough, and forged to be equal to the edges of a rock; sharp. Nocte enjoyed despair, sadness, and loneliness. The other Gods, even if it was hard to admit, feared him and what he could do to his fellow brothers and sisters.
Time was running out as they prepared for another era on Earth. They were tired of the darkness that surrounded the planet. It was their duty to protect it, after all. So, they came up with a plan to destroy the Tenebris once and for all. The plan was to start colonizing and hope- pray for other species to survive on the land while they protected them from exterior threats such as beings from other planets and being that were already on Earth who were capable of inflicting pain.
However, Nocte was against it. Everything that could spark a new beginning, he was against it.
Even though the other Gods were unaware; another beginning on Earth would mean his demise. He would lose his control over another planet and that would take away his chances of being the ruler among all Gods.
For years, he watched as Animaliums - animals were created. They were weird creatures. Some of them were stronger than others, some didn't eat meat while others only enjoyed eating when they could taste flesh and dispose of bones. For years, he had to watch as everything he worked for slowly slipped away from his fingers.
Driven by madness, he destroyed them. That earned him punishment- he was exiled by the other Gods to the darkest place on the planet he hated the most. Earth.
Multa, that was his destination.
Exile lasted for two decades. He was there alone and no one knew of him. He wasn't needed; his mere presence disturbed the other Gods. What they didn't know was that Nocte was waiting and analyzing. He waited until one day, Ludicio, the first day of the month in which the moon was at its highest peak.
That day Nocte managed to free himself after drawing enough force from the Tenebris that still lived on Earth. He was their creator after all. As soon as he could, he attacked Horizon-Skyline. A place where time diffused and no one knew what was real or not. It was where the Gods lived.
