i. i cleansed my whole house the other day. bathed my windows and doorknobs in salt water and onion. played chimes and clanged metals. the nightmares had run from my lips, white heavy drops, but they always come back.

ii. do the seagulls call out for you by name? they do me -- the ocean filled up my lungs with salt when i was born and now i know only dark water and horseshoe crab scars.

iii. i need someone to smash my heart open. blocked my cork and bone, i am a dam overflown.

iv. is your girlfriend pretty? do you swallow the laughter from her teeth?

v. my nana reasons abuse with watermelon seeds. pumps bible verses into pink flesh. do you forgive me?

vi. on my sixth birthday i wished for a boyfriend. on my sixteenth i will wish for sleep.

vii. it will only burn for a second, grab tight and clench teeth. wash your face. avoid bleeding gums. you are here, reborn. awake and witness to a whole new world. call the circle, you're so damn close. whisper to the mother, she's waiting.

a/n: basically a collection of things that haven't fit yet or things i started and didn't finish. treat me like fire by lion babe is a whole bop by the way!
