i'm kinsley marie johnson. i've been in the foster system for 7 years. i'm 15. this is me. (loren beech)

7:00am

i heard my phone buzzing. i stood up and went into the bathroom. i took a shower, washed my face, and brushed my teeth. i walked downstairs to anne and rick. they were my foster parents, and they were until someone was going to adopt me. as i was walking down the stairs, i saw anne talking on her phone.

"kin, your getting adopted!" anne said, happily. i was so excited. i loved anne and rick, but it will be nice knowin i'll be able to stay in on place.

"go get ready, they're going to be here in 3 hours!" she said pushing me. i laughed, and went in my room. i grabbed my laptop and turned on ricegum's diss track "god church" and put it on loop. i know all of the words, and i'm planning on listening to it the whole time. i want my adoptive parents to know me, so i'm going to wear my rice gum merch shirt as well, with a pair of skinny jeans. i started on my makeup, and that took me a good 2 hours. 30 minutes until they would be here. so i walked downstairs with my speaker and started blasting it's everynight sis. anne and rick were only 28, so they were super laid back with what i listened to. i'm gonna miss them. i hope my new parents are the same. a little later, i heard a knock on the door. i didn't bother to turn off my music. when i opened the door, my jaw dropped. ricky banks. and alissa violet. are adopting me. not to mention, rice came with them.

"nice shirt kinsley!" rice said.

i welcomed them in.

"nice music too!" alissa said.

"thank you guys so much for adopting me. i can tell i'm going to have a lot of fun with you guys." i said.

"well, i think it will be good for you to have younger parents. we can relate to you. and we'll have so much fun! now let's get going!" ricky said.

"um wait a sec. what should i call you guys?"

"ricky and alissa. don't feel the need to call us mom and dad, it's perfectly okay with us." they said.

i said my goodbyes to rick and anne and i grabbed my phone and laptop as well as my suitcases.

"we're gonna need to get you a new phone and laptop!" alissa said.

"you don't have to seriously." i responded.

"you're in my care now. i've always wanted a little girl. hun, you're gonna be spoiled. you're doing online school so you can spend time with us." alissa said back. i gave her a huge hug, and then we walked back into the car. rice took a snapchat of us both and captioned it "my new niece!" i smiled. we jammed to lil' uzi in the car. i'm gonna have fun with these guys.
