Zayn's wolf ears perked up at the sound of whimpering.

He was out taking a run and blowing off some steam. Earlier, at school, he had gotten in trouble for punching a kid in the nose for picking on a girl. When he got home, he, of course, got in trouble by his father. His mother on the other hand understood and praised him for the situation, but his father was being a hard ass. That resulted in Zayn's mom arguing with his father (which could get out a hand because his mom can be a vicious woman), and Zayn storming out for a run. He was on the run nearly an hour, blocking off the mind link with his parents when he heard the pained whimper.

When he heard it, he came to a sudden stop, trying to find the direction of the source. Once he had a set direction of the sound, he slowly began to make his way towards it, wanting to help the creature in need. Zayn has always been the type of person to help someone in needs even if it resulted in his downfall. Yes, he's gotten in trouble for it because it puts him in danger, but after years of training to get rid of the feature it didn't seem to wear off, so they gave up on it.

His mother thought of it was a positive thing, because it meant that he would always stop what he was doing to help his pack (which is what he did earlier), while his father thought of it as a bad thing because it gave rivaling packs a chance to use it as an advantage if they've ever found out. His father was a bit of a hard ass, and it clashed with Zayn's personality sometimes, but he still loved his old man even though he was mad at him.

Even though it sounded pained, Zayn couldn't help but bask in the beautiful sound. His wolf heart was fluttering and anticipated finding the sound. Zayn couldn't help but wonder and ask why, but his wolf would ignore him and focus on finding it. Zayn, wanting to know more as to what the sound was and why his wolf was acting the way he was, he continued. He wasn't the type to give up, and it seemed like his wolf wouldn't even let him even if he did want to.

After a few minutes of searching, he was confused. He didn't understand what was happening. The sound sounded close, but as he gotten to what he assumed closer to the sound, he realized it was far away. He didn't know how come he heard the faraway sound. His hearing was good, but not that good.

Twenty minutes and three miles later, the sound was growing closer, louder in his ear, and he was growing more agitated and nervous for some reason. His wolf, on the other hand, was shaking with excitement and Zayn couldn't even control him anymore. The growing alpha still couldn't understand what was happening. How come he could hear a sound from such far distance, he thought. He has never been able to hear this far away, especially since he was only sixteen. Since he was an alpha, his hearing was already good and as he got older, it would continue to be better. The farthest he could hear was six minutes, but at the moment, that wasn't true. The pained sound that he was hearing hurt him, and he was eager to find the source.

And that all came to a stop when he sees a beautiful wolf whimpering, leg stuck in between two rocks.

Zayn breath was taken away as he looked at the wolf. His wolf, on the other hand, was howling in the inside with excitement, and Zayn could understand a little bit of why.

There between those rocks was a beautiful silver wolf, trying its best to get it way out. It was too occupied with the task that he didn't even notice the gawking wolf staring intensely at him. The wolf was small compared to Zayn, and he knew instantly it was an omega. What made Zayn happier is that he didn't sense any danger from around the wolf. If anything, he sensed straight good vibes coming from it, and the need of being helped.
