Bio: • Full Name: Eleanor Russel • Other Names: Elle, [the fifth] Kira • Gender: Female • Date of Birth: 1st April 2004 • Age: 19 (currently in story) • Birthplace: South Carolina, USA • Occupation: Law Student • Associations: Boston University; The Death Note
Physical Appearance: Elle is what others would call the ideal American girl. She is slim with large curves and a tiny waistline. Her hair is naturally blonde with a velvety texture and falls just below her collarbone. Her eyes are a deep, earthy green and her complexion is olive due to her European origins. Elle is fond of wearing simple clothing such as button-up blouses and work pants in her desire to seem more mature than she is. On the rare occasion she does dress herself up, she could be found in light, pastel colours that contrast her skin tone. Elle wears minimal makeup due to the confidence she has in her body, as well as her lack of time to apply makeup every day. However, she keeps herself well groomed and cleansed to hopefully preserve her natural beauty. She is very precarious of time due to her busy schedule and therefore never leaves the house without a wristwatch - a fact which is cemented when Light enters her life.
An ideal real-life interpretation of Elle would be Elizabeth Lail

Background: Elle was born into an atheist family who remained firm in their lack of beliefs. However, when she reached the age of two, strange murders began to occur and talk of Kira arose. Being only a young toddler at the time, Elle did not understand and cared little for Kira's regime, but her parents were extreme supporters of the self-declared God. Her parents spoke very explicitly about Kira's gradual diminishment of crime and revelled in each new death, continuing to speak of him even after Light Yagami's death. Being a child, Elle was easily influenced by her parents, and gradually developed a very strong sense of justice herself.
As the years went by, Elle's opinion on Kira changed as her education progressed, but her belief that justice needed to be served remained steadfast. At some point in highschool, she decided she wanted to become a lawyer. She took to isolating herself from others and neglecting social events so she could study in order to achieve the high grades she'd need. This led to her becoming very introverted and shy, and having very few close friends. This lasted right up until her college years, where she took up law.
During the second year of her degree, she discovers a black book upon the fields of her college campus. Curious, she picks it up, soon realising it is the Death Note. Not sure whether it is fake or not, Elle hides the book in her bag and takes it home with her. It is later that evening that she encounters Light Yagami - reborn as a Shinigami - who convinces her to take on the role of Kira, resulting in her committing her first murder.
Relationships: • Light originally felt a certain distaste for her and found her irritating, mostly due to her hesitance to write in the Death Note. However, he deems her as a worthy candidate and decides to do the best he can to assist her, mostly because he is able to see glimpses of himself within her. • Kayleigh has known Elle all of her life and considers her to be her best friend, despite their conflicting personalities. She notices a change in Elle after the other mentions a fake Death Note and grows concerned for her friend, but keeps all comments to herself.
Trivia: • When spoken aloud, Elle phonetically corresponds with the sound of the letter L, which is also the name of everyone's favourite detective. • I decided that I wanted Elle to be born on April 1st due to the superstition surrounding that day (no, sadly this has nothing to do with humour or pranks). According to some, children who are born on April Fool's Day will receive good luck in nearly all things, except for gambling. Since Elle is taking a massive gamble by choosing to write in the Death Note, she has automatically set herself up for disaster.
