— FORKS IS ENSHROUDED in evergreen, and grayed by a near constant overcast sky. For Zachary, it's these same trees and that very downpour, that defines childhood.
It's a red raincoat on hunched shoulders whilst he huffed his small chest underneath his crossed arms ass he pouted at the same canary booted feet, smeared in mud. It was the lullaby of a hatchet whacking into the rough bark of those towering trees.
Childhood to Isabella, Zachary imagines, was very different. After all, she had lived in sunny Arizona while Zachary is quite accustomed to rainy Washington.
In the months that led to Isabella sharing the same roof as his Uncle Charlie, it had been Zachary that was sent to help him paint her four walls a subtle shade of mint. It was her cousin, her elder by a handful of months, that collected the paperwork for Charlie to fill so she could attend the local High School.
Ironically enough, it had also been her cousin to share the hospital bed by her side when she had nearly been crushed by a badly glossed minivan. An unrelated incident of course but Carlisle Cullen treated him all the same and Zachary couldn't stop making eyes at the doctors adopted daughter in the same way Bella couldn't pry her stare from his pretentious bronzed haired son.
Still, it would be Zachary to tease Bella relentlessly for the fact.
