Adventures abound in the country of Georgia even at well-known tourist-attractions! Follow my family as we explore our new home and learn from our mistakes. Part travel-guide, part chronicle.
Author Note: When we first arrived in Georgia to live, the kids were sad about leaving home and not at all sure about being here. Wendy's was the first place they went to that they loved and was "better than Australia". So in the interests of making life easier for other young families in Georgia I decided to write this post. I was in no way compensated for this.
However in Batumi the fun parlour has now been removed due to Covid :(
Wendy's. On the outside it looks like just another American style hamburger joint but it has one key difference. Attached to every Wendy's is a fun parlour filled with a free indoor playground and an array of arcade games. These are all operated by golden coins.

What we didn't realise when we first went was that these golden coins can not be individually purchased. You get them as freebies when you buy certain menu items. Our hot tip is to buy the Family Box that currently costs 30 GEL because you get lots of food and ten golden coins.
*However in the three-storied Wendy's in the CBD across the road from the Holiday Inn does allow you to buy coins in the gift shop below (1.5 GEL for one golden coin). This is the only Wendy's we've found that allows this.

Even the Wendy's at Gori which is at the service station on the National Highway has a small games room! See the funky design of the outside below!

The food at Wendy's is standard American-style hamburgers and fries. They taste like you'd expect - no hidden surprises.
Wendy's always seems to have an adjacent Dunkin' Donuts but you don't get golden coins with them, just coffee and donuts - great for parents!
