The meteor soared through space

his silent descent marked by no one

He neared a planet, caught by her face

- her Eye, never blinking, watched him run.

He fell rapidly, drawn by her hand,

there was no escaping the atmosphere.

She had seen millions of stars fade to sand

and a billion streaks from meteors.

"Wanderer" was on his heart embossed

his eager flame never tried to flee or turn

-but what is found is no longer lost,

what is quenched cannot burn.

The meteor fell into the seas of sand

winds hungry to carve him away

But as his flames rose, a scarlet hand

took his black from where it lay.

Flowers blew stardust into the air

giving it bite as they walked on.

The volcanic ash-formed stairs

they climbed right up to the sun.

He begged her to with him fly -

even the wind receded from her grip.

She smiled, asked him, oh but why

then gently touched his lips.

But suddenly, she spun with a great roar

summoning the power in her Eye.

He cowered, weak, broken, sore,

and she threw him from her sky.

.

.

Once more in silence the meteor falls

shadowed yet beautiful for all his scars.

The green grass of strange water calls,

But someone could see him from afar...........
