A Tale As Old As Time

Another Fairytale That Ended In Disaster

Why can't I find Cinderella
to give back her glass slipper?
Why can't I kiss SnowWhite
& bring her back to Life?
Where's Anastasia
to tell her that I love her?
How can I find Princess Fiona
to scale the castle walls, slay the dragon
& rescue her from the highest tower?

Why is Belle with the beast,
is it his charming eyes,
that sweeps her off her feet?
Aurora has been sleeping
for a hundred years.
Where's the Prince
to save her from Maleficent's spell
& release her from her peril?
Why won't Rapunzel let down her golden hair
So that I may climb thy golden stair,
and free her from the witches lair?

I'm done searching the sea
to find Ariel, knowing I'll never find a girl,
with ocean blue eyes as beautiful as hers.
I'm done searching the sands of time
to find Jasmine,
because I know she's happy with Aladdin.

I've travelled the American Forest
In search of Pocahontas
only to discover she's on a ship
sailing to England with John Smith.
I was too late to find brave Mulan
who's run off to join the Chinese army
in honour of her ancestors & family.

But here I am, I'm Tarzan,
I don't have a castle made of gold or stone
Nor riches or a throne.

Still, I held you in my arms
Keeping you close to my heart,
Knowing I've finally found my Jane.
This love story happened because of you
And It's just another fairy tale that ended in disaster & there is no happy ever after.
