Breakfast was awkward, more so than usual. Jimin and her father sat on opposite ends of the table. A table that was far too big for two people and one that usually only seated a single person. Her father didn't look up once at his daughter when she entered the room, only murmuring something that distinctively sounded like a greeting of some sorts while continuing to eat.

Jimin, on the other hand, couldn't help but look up at her father at various intervals. He looked very calm and collected, a newspaper perched on his lap and a fork in his hand, the image of a typical father, but Jimin knew better. She could see how beat up his knuckles were and how there was a scratch on his cheek, one that wasn't there yesterday, but then again thinking about how rushed everything was last night, Jimin couldn't be totally sure this was true. Yesterday's events seemed to be non-existent to Mr.Park and neither made a move to bring up the topic, or any topic for that matter. Their meal ended just like it had begun, in silence.

Mr. Park was the first one to get up from the table. Discarding his newspaper next to his plate, Jimin's father left the room, once again without acknowledging the brunette. Sighing, Jimin focused her attention back on her plate. The half empty chinaware was quickly pushed from in front of her, as she got up and walked to her father's seat. Grabbing the lone newspaper, the young girl also left the dining room, heading towards the library as usual to start her day with some reading. Newspapers were rarely seen in the household and although Jimin could have easily read the latest news on her mobile or laptop, the feeling of the textured paper against her fingertips and the lack of the harsh glare of light towards her eyes felt so much more natural to her.
