I want to "reset" my image and life as a new high school student.
Why?
I am feminine and I was ostracized by my female friends in junior high, and because of a misunderstanding, I couldn't get my feelings across to the only boy I have ever liked...
As I looked at him from slightly behind and to the side, he seemed to have felt my presence and turned back to look at me. Our eyes met and we both looked away. I was at a loss for words.
“It came down... pretty suddenly, huh?” The boy murmured suddenly, keeping his gaze at the rain.

I looked at him and replied, “ Yeah…”
Silence fell. It didn’t last long though, just as a poster caught my eye. On the poster was an illustration of a festival that was coming soon.
Sakisaka Shrine Festival.
All of a sudden, I blurted out, “Tanaka-kun! Are you going to the festival?”
He turned to look at me, clearly surprised. “Eh?”
Oh no...what did i just do? My face turned beetroot red and it felt hot. I froze at the spot, mortified. I felt traumatized. I couldn't believe that I had turned into this state, and in front of him too.

“I don’t know if Yumi-chan is going. I wonder if I should ask her, you know?” I stammered, glancing away from him as I didn’t want him to see my blushing face.
He stared at me for a while, as though reading me. “Here. Use this,” he said as he covered my drenched hair with his gym uniform. “You’ll catch a cold.” He looked away and added, “Dry off with that.”

I looked at the gym uniform, frowning. “A gym uniform?”
“It’s okay. I haven’t worn it,” he said as I looked up from the gym uniform. After a short pause, he added, “except once.”
My eyebrows shot up. “Ehh? Then you have worn it once!”
I stared at him and his smile turned into a laugh. Seeing him laugh made me blush slightly.

My gaze fell. “Fine, then. I will use it.” I started to rub my hair with his gym uniform slowly,
“Sure, use it.”
“Thanks…”I whispered softly, blushing under his gym uniform. At the same time, I got a glimpse of him.
His face was red too.

My heart felt a tingling sense of warmth as happiness seemed to unfold itself inside me.
The more focused I was as I looked at him, the more intense the happiness became. It was like taking a beam of light to the soul.
The sound of gentle rain filled my ears as I watched it fall — in a comfortable silence.
