So, a lot of Vegeta fans are on "suicide watch" because of the ending elimination theory. (I'm looking at you HayleyDBZ and Vegeta_Lover27) But, I have theory that'll make all of this make sense.
First, if you don't know what the ending sequence elimination theory is, U7 fighters are thought to be eliminated in this order: Krillin, Tien, Vegeta, Android 18, Android 17, Piccolo, Roshi, and Frieza. This would leave Gohan and Goku as the final two fighters.

Now here's my theory. My theory is that killing is gonna be allowed very soon because Zeno is gonna get bored. Then, because of that characters like Hit, Frieza, and others will go all out. Within seconds characters could be either killed knocked out until it's just the top tiered fighters left in Goku, Gohan, Toppo, Jiren, and Frieza. Vegeta would've been here, but I'm thinking that once this new rule change is made, Vegeta is gonna Bee-line straight to Hit and fight him. They'll be neck and neck until Hit pulls out that killing technique that he used on Goku. This will catch Vegeta by surprise cause he's never seen it before and will lead to his ring out. It'll also make the situation direr. Also, with this new killing rule, Roshi will be one of the last standing to be a plot device. He'll get killed by someone like Jiren and that's when all Hell breaks loose and Goku achieves his new form.
This makes sense to me because using Roshi as a plot device has already been hinted in episode 105. When Roshi almost sacrificed himself for the team, Goku damn near broke down crying for the first time in a long time. Imagine if he were to get killed by someone like Jiren. All Hell would break loose!
