The rain subsides and stops as I march on,
The clouds however remaining with me as I move along.
My dark eyes start to droop, my arms hanging without strength.
My back arks awkwardly, my legs losing strength.
My body grows weaker and weaker the farther I go,
As I trudge on farther and further away from home.
Just as hope leaves me, and I feel that the time has come,
A familiar tree comes into my vision, filled with green leaves of ton.
It's branched curl with beauty, its luscious green leaves full of life,
And I know that my journey was worth it, despite the strife.
A giggle reaches my ears, one I know oh so well,
The face of my brother peeks round the trunk, ending this hell.
A smile creeps onto my face as my brother motions for me to follow,
To the tree full of life in this deathly hollow.
My strength returns and I feel glowing as I gaze at the tree.
A lone rope in a knot swings from a branch freely.
My gaze drifts from the necklace to the cheery and glowing face of my brother.
A shining smile shines on his pale face and hollow black eyes like no others.
I run to my brother quickly, no longer weak, now full of breath.
And we disappear in a shimmer of light, our cries forever quieted and content with our deaths.
