"That was fun..."

Rylie got up and checked her phone.
"Yeah," I said wiping the sweat off my forehead.
Fun? It was awful.

She kissed my cheek and smiled.
Yes, she was in fact pretty. Very pretty.
But it didn't feel right. I didn't like it and i never wanted it again.

It was supposed to hold you over David.

But it wasn't. I didn't want Rylie. She knew that.
I wanted something real.. not just something, or someone to 'hold me over'.

The next morning was hell. I forced a smile as I approached Alex.
"Hey man? How was last night?," he said raising his eyebrows repeatedly.
"I never want to do that again."
He stepped back. "Oh.."

When he stepped back, he bumped into Sam, who was walking with Liza.
Sam looked at Alex and laughed a little.
"Sorry Sam," he looked around her, "hey Liza."

Her perfect smile formed. "Hi."
Her soft voice made me weak.
"Hi Liza," I spoke up.

She turned her head, her curls ever so slightly moving.
"Hi David."

Her cute awkwardness made me happy inside.
Or was it me being awkward, and did she think it was cute too?
Did she like me?
Did she want to kiss me as much as i wanted to kiss her?
Wait what...

The bell rang out and I found myself walking with Liza to first period.
I noticed all the little things about her.
I noticed how her clothes hugged her body just right. I saw how she held her books. I noticed how she would tap the edge of her binder while walking.

"Did you have fun last night princess," I said nudging her a bit.
Princess? What the hell is wrong with me?

She giggled. "Yeah."
That damn laugh could bring world peace.

"So you and Rylie huh?"

My smile fell.
"Oh.. yeah no.. not really."

"Seemed like it in the parking lot," she shrugged.

Shit.

"You s-saw that?"
"Yeah," she said, becoming distant.

Fix it David. Fix it.

"Can I tell you something," I said stopping and turning towards her.
When I turned, I brushed her hand. I loved it.

"Yeah," she said, stopping with me.
"I know it makes me sound like a douche, but I really didn't like her. I was um... holding myself off... cause I was hor-"

"I get it," she said, cutting me off.
She smiled and we stared at each other for what felt like forever.

I grabbed her hand, and she didn't pull away.
I raised them up in front of us. I laced my fingers with hers, and she smiled.

I leaned in and kissed her lips gently.
She was startled, but kissed back.
I slowly pushed her against the lockers and deepened the kiss.
She dropped her books, freeing her other hand to caress my neck.

Her touch was soft and comforting.

I unlocked our hands and ran both of mine down her body. I moved my lips to her jawline and down her neck.

"D-David," she whimpered.
"Yeah baby?"

"Wake up."

"DAVID!"

My head shot up from the table.

I was dreaming about her again.

I had dreamed about her last night... after i went to sleep.. after Rylie.

"Sorry," I rubbed my eyes.

"Liza isn't sitting here today," Alex said putting his stuff in her seat.
I moved it.
"Dude what are you doing?"
He laughed a little.
"That's Liza's seat."

"She left man. She got sick."
I nodded and pulled my phone out to text her.

David: hey princess. You ok?
Liza: yeah. I just wasn't feeling well.
David: mind if i stop by later? Just to check on you?
Liza: id love that.

I smiled at the phone and sighed.
How could she be so perfect and not even be with me?
