Lana POV

I only slept for a few minutes, my brain would instantly kick back into overdrive every time his fingers would twitch. Slowly I stood and wandered over to the window, feeling as if I was suffocating in this hospital room.

"I'm sorry for jumping in your face." Conor wandered over beside me, mumbling for no one else to hear. Dana was gone as was Suzette since she needed proper rest. Rosa and Urijah were deep in conversation.

"It's forgiven. We're all a little hot headed at the moment." I glanced over my shoulder to the man laying in the bed. "This is my fault. I was so angry at him. I didn't even hear him out."

"He loves you like crazy. He'd never cheat on you. Granted your time apart led him into the arms of another and a lot of alcohol." We both managed to laugh before I shrugged.

"I can't blame him. I wasn't here when he needed me." I walked over to Rosa and kissed her cheek. "I'm going to take a walk. Let me know if he wakes up." She nodded before I left, Conor was hot on my heels. I dug in my pocket as I stopped by one of the tv's.

"NSA has a face to its hacker. Edward Snowden, contract for the NSA under Booz Allen who is currently in Russia avoiding extradition on charges in regards to the United States Espionage Act of 1917. Rumours are flying that people within the government support him and what he stands for in this case."

I tuned it out and kept walking ignoring the elephant following behind me as I dug out my phone. The cigarette rested on my lips as I pressed the phone to my ear, glancing around and walking away from one of the cameras and further into the parking lot.

" Hello?"

"Hey Erik. You there yet?"

"Hey Lana!" I cracked a smile at the familiar voice that was away from the phone. "How's everything there? Did they question you?"

" Yeah of course they did. I'm okay. I just wanted to check on you again. Your friends tried to visit, but I was on a mission. I'll have to make some time for them. They're making a movie?"

" Yeah, they figured it would be a good way to get more information out to the public. Listen I don't want to keep you long. Stay safe."

"Farwell." I hung up and glanced behind me to see Conor right beside me.

"Dare I even ask about that? You nearly froze when you looked at the tv." I laughed slightly before taking a drag.

" He, Edward Snowden is a good friend of mine. I obviously didn't know what he was going to do, but me and the others support what he did." I shrugged and glanced towards the sunset. " He was a close friend of mine a long time ago before I met Dom. Only because he had a clearance and it was nice talking to someone who understood." Conor chuckled slightly.

" He seems very different from Dom."

"They're both mentally strong. Granted far apart in looks, but that doesn't matter." I offered him a cigarette yet he shook his head. "I got questioned by the FBI, but they didn't even have the clearance to ask the proper questions."

"I already see why Dominick is in love with you." I looked at him, confused as I stepped on my cigarette. "You're powerful. You stand with your head held high like a fighter. You're his equal. A Queen who stands beside a King and not at his feet like a servant." A smile managed to find its way to my lips. It was a beautiful analogy. True for sure.

"Thank you."

"No thank you, for changing my mind about you. You're like my Dee. She doesn't take my shit. You don't take his shit." I nodded before we walk back inside the hospital. The smells of cleaner and everything that made a hospital that miserable place to find one's self.

"I would kill for him. He's what I care about the most." We stopped outside of the hospital room. I could see him from the door being cracked, and it killed me just to look at him. To know he was at his weakest and most vulnerable point.

"You should really get some sleep. You look exhausted."

"Truth be told I am. I just can't sleep good without him anymore." I huffed admitting to my weakness as I pushed the door open and returned to my post, which was his bedside. My eyes landed on Rosa who managed a weak smile in my direction before she stood.

"I'm going to go to Suzette's and drive her back here tomorrow when she's read." I nodded before resting my head on his thigh again. Even after all of this I could still smell his cologne lingering around him. Urijah came over and rubbed my back.

"You want me to stay." He whispered softly, in that calming voice I had come to enjoy having around as almost a brother.

"Please?"

"Of course." He sat down, his hand still rubbing my back in a tender manner. Conor sat on the other side of the bed and emitted a sigh. Maybe he felt that he too needed to be here since he was through it all. To think of Dominick just buckled up he would have been fine for the most part just like them.

I moved his hand to rest on my cheek, my eyes growing heavy once again as I kissed his palm. All of me wished I could will him to wake up and wrap his arms around my body and feel his lips on mine like before. Yet for now I would have to be his rock.

"Please wake up soon Dom." I whispered before my eyes welled with tears. My walls continued to break down for him and I hated the sensation yet loved it at the same time.
