Chapter 1

"Alex look at these cute wine glasses!!" Cat squealed, grabbing her 'zapper' to add to her wedding gift register 

"Oh honey they're lovely" her fiancé Alex grabbed her waist from behind and kissed her 

Cat Valentine was still the same 'child' that she had always been yet somehow it was concealed to be ditzy around her accountant fiancé Alex Johnson. She had died her hair to brunette with a red tint on her second date with the financial hunk and slowly but surely over the last 3 years she had confined her old nature to a special place in her heart, vowing to never 'show up' Alex by her crazy 'old' nature that she swore was because of her old friends.

"Shall we go get something to eat?" She asked, un-wriggling from his grip and grabbing his soft muscular hands 

"Lets go to the little Italian joint around the corner" He said contently. Alex was totally in love with Cat for all her little quirks and he thought she was absolutely stunning, from the light curls in her brunette hair, to the way she walks with a slight bounce whenever she see's him. He couldn't wait for her to be his wife and eventually the mother of his children. 

"Ooo lasagna" she giggled 

As Cat sat on a bench outside the downtown mall waiting for Alex to return from filling the car she sat mindlessly scrolling through Pinterest to find her newest wedding aesthetic however she raised her head after hearing a familiar voice 

"You can't bring a box of crackers as a housewarming gift J"

"Some people like crackers"

"Not from the dollar store"

"You can't ignore value prices"

Cat saw the faces of her oldest friends...it had been a few...well a while but when seeing them, her face lit up 

"JADE, BECK!!" she smiled waving manically 

Jade had her hair straightened in a dark brown colour. Her never ageing appearance saw her pale complexion adorned with her usual nose piercing and a statement smokey eye. Beck was as handsome as ever despite his hair being noticeably shorter but always as fluffy. 

"Cat" Jade gave a bright smile whilst reaching in to give her a hug "how have you been, it feels like forever" 

"IT HAS BEEN!!" Cat squealed "I HAVE SO MUCH TO TELL YOU JADEY I MISSED YOU SO MU-"

"Hey sweetie pie" Cat was interrupted by Alex who had embraced her from her left side and was waiting expectantly for an  introduction to these people who made his fiancé so manic

"Hey baby" Cats personality switched very noticeably to Beck and Jade who gave each other a sideways glance for assurance that they had both noticed this scene "This is Alex, my fiancé" Cat grinned "Alex, this is Jade and Beck my best friends from high school"

"Hi" Alex leant in to shake the hands of the couple "Hey i recognise you" he raised an eyebrow at Jade 

"Oh really? Im an actress I'm in a lot of horror movies and I've just completed the first season of a new cop show" Jade smiled awkwardly 

"Alex hates horror movies" Cat exclaimed with confusion as Alex sheepishly avoided replying 

"Congrats on the engagement" Beck broke the quick tension 

"Thank you" Alex interrupted before Cat could say anything "Are you two both married?" he interrogated 

"Yeah for 2 years" Jade 

"But we've been together for 12 years" Beck interjected 

"Oh really? So you've never been with anyone else?" Alex pressured more
