Chapter 40

Tzuyu's POV

I went to the café to buy some coffee and there I saw someone like Jungkook. He sat there with 2 other people.

I stared at them for a while and then I recognized that they were Jungkook, Bambam and Yugyeom.

I walked toward them with a smile to greet them.

"...This is reality not a book." Bambam told Jungkook.

"Anyways Jungkook, we have to go and you'd better not say anything to Tzuyu or anyone who would tell it to her. Mark hyung don't want her to know that he is engaged to someone." Yugyeom said and stood up.

I couldn't believe what I just heard.

Did I hear it right?

"Who would-"

"Mark is engaged?" I asked them. I was shocked about what I'd heard.

Jungkook slowly turned around and faced me.

"T-Tzuyu..."

"He is not engaged, right? H-He isn't, right?" I stuttered. I could feel tears in my eyes.

Jungkook wanted to say something but he didn't. He just looked down.

"Yugyeom sunbae... H-He isn't-" I slowly gazed at Yugyeom. But he looked away.

"Y-You all are just kidding, are you?" I made myself smile.

"I'm sorry..." Bambam said flatly.

A tear ran down on my cheek.

I felt numb. I couldn't move.

I fell down on my knees. Everyone looked at us.

Luckily they didn't recognize us.

"Tzu-" Jungkook tried to help me stand up but I slapped his hand away.

I forced myself to stand up and go away.

I ran away.

I went straight to our dorm.

Yes, I ditched the practice. I didn't care.

I turned off my phone. I didn't want to talk with someone at that moment.

I laid down on my bed and just cried.

The others came back sooner than always.

"Tzuyu! Are you here?!" Chae Young ran into our room and found me lying on my bed. The others came in after her.

"Jesus Christ! Do you know how much we were worried about you? What got into-" Na Yeon shouted at me but then she noticed my red eyes.

"Oh my god! What happened?" She wiped my tears and patted my head.

"I-I...." I couldn't speak properly.

"Is it about Mark? What did he do? I'm going to kick his ass for hurting you over and over again." Jungyeon said.

"Shh! Let her tell us what happened." Ji Hyo hushed her and looked down at me anxiously.

"I-It's okay... H-He hasn't done anything. I-It's just me." I buried my face into Chae Young's chest.

Sana whispered something Momo and Mina.

Mark's POV

I was practicing when I got a call from Yugyeom.

"H-Hyung!" His voice was somehow stranger than always.

"What? Is there something wrong?" I asked him annoyed. I didn't have much time to talk about some nonsense.

"Tzu-Tzuyu knows about your engagement--"

I dropped my phone. In one second I suddenly didn't know what to do.

'Should I call her to explain everything?'

or

'Should I run to her to comfort her and tell her everything is going to be alright?'

Those 2 questions were in my mind.

I tried to call her while running as fast as I could. But she had her phone turn off.

As soon as I got to our apartment I knocked the door and rang the bell million times.

Then it finally was opened. Sana opened the door.

I wanted to rush into Tzuyu's room but Sana stopped me.

"Tell her everything. I know about your engagement. We tried to call her down. She's sleeping." She told me quietly and let me in.

When I went into her room I gazed at Tzuyu.

I sat down beside her.

"I'm sorry. I should have tell you." I started to apologize to her.

10 minutes passed.

I found myself tired.

I laid down next to her.

"I know I didn't fall in love with you."

"I walked into love with you, with my eyes open, choosing to take every step along the path."

"I do believe in fate and destiny. I also believe we are fated."

"I'd choose you in a hundred lifetimes, in a hundred worlds, in any version of reality. I'd find you and I'd choose you." My lips quivered at my last words.

"I love you so much that it hurts."

I stayed in silence for a while.

"You're right, Tzuyu. This is just a passing downpour. We'll smile again and be together."

"I was confused."

"I wasn't sure if I could protect you.."

"But the more time passed... I knew I can. Because I'm your man."

"You're everything in this world to me."

I fell asleep beside her.

But the thing was.

Tzuyu wasn't sleeping. She heard what I had said.

She was never mad at me. She knew that I couldn't tell her.

"I'm sorry. I love you too."
