After the cops explained what was going to happen, I decided not to wake Zach up. I waited till morning.

"Hey Zach." I said reading my book.

"Angel?! It's Tuesday and it's 9:00! Why didn't you wake me up to go to school!" He shouts.

"Zach, listen. I have some bad news. Dad... Dad got into a car accident. He got hurt really badly and... Well..."

"He died didn't he." Zach said calmer then before. He sniffles. The only time I had seen Zach cry was when he broke his leg in 3rd grade.

"Yeah. I'm so sorry. Aunt Lili is coming to stay with us for a few days until Erika is ready for us."

"You mean mom right?" Zach asks wiping his face with his hand.

"Yeah. Erika." I hate my mom and my mom hates me. She is no mom to me and never will be. Zach stads in the doorway and I motion for him to come sit on my bed. He walks over quietly and sits down. After about 20 minutes of silence, the doorbell rings. We slowly get up like we haven't walked in years. We walk down to the door and before I can open it Aunt Lili come bursting in.

"Angel! Zach! Oh my gosh you two are getting so big!" She says dropping everything to look at us. She pinches my cheek and plays with my boring brown hair. She takes the rest of me in and moves on to Zach. She plays with his perfect brown curls on his head and takes his perfect body in. Aunt Lili starts putting all her stuff away and Zach and I decide to help her. Aunt Lili is Erika's sister. Aunt Lili is the complete opposite of Erika though. Pretty, smart, NICE, and everything you could ever wish for in a mom.

It was the first home cooked meal me and Zach had in 10 months. Aunt Lili made pancakes, eggs, bacon, biscuits and all sorts of good stuff. As I ate I realized maybe this isn't going to be as bad as I think it will be.

Boy, I was never more wrong!
