"Okay, guys, let's take a break." Steve did some cross overs, then he tossed the ball onto the floor. He saw you and walked over surprised. "When did you get here?" "Just a few minutes ago." He looked down at the  ball you were holding, curiously. "What's with the pink ball?" "Well you remember when you said you were going to teach me how to play basketball?" His mouth turned into a grin. "You want to learn today?" You nodded in excitement. "I have my own basketball, see and I even got some basketball shoes" you told him, lifting your foot up. His teammates laughed at you, he chuckled as well. "Well since you're so eager to learn. Here hand me the ball." You bounced the ball to him. "So first, let's just start with the basics. When playing their can only be five players from each team on the court. Five for defense, five for offense." He spun the ball on his finger. "Before you keep talking, are you going to teach me how to do that?" "Sure, babe, if you want." He walked over to the three-point line, you followed. "There are two main passes that us, basketball players, do. A chest pass: when you hold the ball at chest level and push it out without bouncing it" he explained demonstrating the pass, "here, you try." He moved back underneath the hoop. "Now?" you asked. He nodded. You did your best chest pass and threw the ball to him. "Good, now, the second main pass, is a bounce pass. When you do a bounce pass, you bounce the ball one time to get the ball to one of your teammates."

You did a bounce pass over to him, and he caught the ball. "See you're doing great already! Now let's move on to dribbling." He went over to the ball-rack and grabbed another basketball off for himself. "You can only dribble with one hand at a time, but you can still switch back and forth. If you dribble with two hands, or stop dribbling and start again, that is a violation that will turn the ball over to the other team. A player can only move when dribbling, and once you stop you will need to plant a foot, and either pass the ball or shoot it." You listened carefully. "Now, let's practice dribbling the ball. Touch the ball with your fingertips, not your palm." You tried to bounce the ball exactly like he said. "Woah, you can't do it if your back is stiff as a board. Lean down a bit. Spread your feet shoulder-width apart. Bend your knees and drop your hips back slightly."

You followed his directions precisely, sticking your butt out slightly. You looked down at the ball as you dribbling it, you allowed your fingertips to push the ball back down whenever it made contact with your hand. "Since you're just an amateur, it's fine to look at the ball, but if you looked at the ball in the NBA, it would be a guaranteed steal." The Warriors began to come onto the court to warm up again. "She's going to replace you in a while" Stephen Curry joked. "Oh, ha ha very funny." You held your ball in your arms. "Are you scared the student is going to surpass the teacher?" "Hey, you're not that good yet" he reminded. "Alright, Mr. NBA, next time you step on this court, that butt is going to belong to me" you threated as Steve walked off of the court for a cup of water. "Whatever you say, Anna!" The players got in line and started practicing their lay-ups. All of them ran up to the hoop, dribbling the ball shot in into the hoop. Most of them making the basket. You walked down to the other side of the court and practiced your dribbling. Just as you went to throw the ball into the hoop, someone stole the ball from you. Steve dribbled and dunked the ball. "Hey! You can't do that!" you yelled. "Just two minutes ago you were acting like your were the MVP of the NBA Finals" he scoffed, with a playful tone. You stole the ball back from him and held it tightly. Within seconds, Steve and you were on the floor, fighting for the pink basketball.
