They were walking along the street hand in hand. The blond was talking about random things. The other- Nico- was listening with an emotionless face on. But Will- the blond- knew that it was only a mask for being around so many people.
They were on their way to a little café. They had decided it was time to go on a date after so long.
Will opened the door to the café and they sat at the nearest table never releasing each others hands. After a minute or so a waitress came over and asked what they wanted to drink.
"Coffee for me and death boy over there will take a Pepsi," Will joked.
Nico scoffed. "Well it's your fault I look like death!" Nico said before blushing realizing how that could be taken. "I-I mean bec-because umm uh you're s-so annoying all the t-time!"
Will laughed at Nico's flustered state.
"This is why I love you," Will said through jus laughter.
The waitress came back with their drinks and the ordered their food. Will got the salad (normal because he said he could make it a ceasar salad by stabbing it a ton of times) while Nico got the grilled cheese sandwich. Will looked at Nico and gave him sort a sort of half smile. He was starting to seem nervous. His hand, that wasn't holding Nico's, kept traveling to his jeans pocket.
After getting their food and paying they went to a park to feed the ducks some stale bread from home. There were two ducks that seemed really happy to see people and came close enough to touch.
The sun eventually started to set and Will was even more nervous than before. He looked Nico seriously.
"Nico, I have loved you since that day you almost ran me over with your motorcycle and I want to snatch you up before you realize you could do so much better than me so, Nico," Will got down on one knee, "will you make me the happiest man on Earth and marry me?"
"No." Nico looked down.
"Wha? Why? Don't you love me?" Will said tears starting to blur his vision.
"I won't let you be the happiest man on Earth because that's gonna be me."
Will stood up and kissed all over Nico's face while laughing. They were happy for those few minutes before everything changed.
Out of nowhere sirens could be heard surrounding the park. Out of nowhere a figure came running towards the happy couple.
It trapped Will and put a gun to his head while saying in a raspy voice said, "Don't struggle or I will shoot your brains out right here and now."
Following the figure was three completely different figures- police. The next thing he knew the raspy voiced person screamed something about having a hostage. Neither boy could pay attention. Will looked at the teary eyed boy and mouthed 'I love you more than you can imagine' before elbowing the figure in the stomach. It all happened so fast the sound of a four gun shots. Followed by two bodies hitting the ground. One dead the other close to it.
Nico ran to Will' s side and gripped his hand, tears finally running down his cheeks. Will placed a shake hand on Nico's pale tear stained cheek.
"Don't leave me," Nico whispered.
"I'm so sorry. Can I see you smile one last time? Please."
Nico smiled at Will. Will pulled Nico down to kiss him one last time. This kiss was full of love happiness and passion all rolled into one. Suddenly a man tapped Nico's shoulder.
"We need to take this man to the hospital, sonny. He will be okay. You can go with him. But we need to get him in the ambulance as soon as it gets here. Okay? So back up a bit."
Nico nodded and backed up. It took two minutes for the ambulance to arrive. Three minutes to get Will in it. Five more to make it to the hospital. But it only took seven minutes for Will to take his last breath. For his heart to beat for the last time. For Nico's world to come crashing down right in front of his very own eyes.
Nico kissed Will' s forehead for the last time after closing the eyes of the blue eyed boy.
"I. Love. You. So. Much," Nico whispered into the ear of his dead fiancé.
