I am passing through the gray tents

Right by the metal fence

There's a group of girls

Crowded

Right in front of me

They're watching

Whispering to each other

As I grow closer

I see what they're all staring at

Several male Others were clustered

Across the fence

Two locked in a fight

One, a skinny blond

And the other

A massive brunette

They were howled on by several males

Shouting encouragement

To the bigger one

He had the blond in his meaty paws

Pushing him to the dirt

Connecting a fist and

blood

spurts Crimson from his nose

As I watch

I notice another Other

Standing a little while away from them

Unlike his brethren

He was silent

Watching the scene with guarded

Yellow eyes

A sharp crack pierces the air

And my attention turns back to the two fighting

The blond is limp

His neck twisted at a strange

angle

blood seeping to the earth

His slate eyes

lifeless

Eternally staring into the distance

Everything

is silent

Transfixed

In shock

A sudden shout from the guards breaks the trance

Two of them come running to the scene

Arms braced

The small group of Others scatter

Leaving only the big one

His face a mask of ice

And amber eyes

Stoic and unmoving

Their shouts have subsided

As they asses the damage

One of them turns to the amber eyed Other

His back is turned

And I can't see what is going on

Finally

He moves

Amber eyes comes into view

Something small and black in his grasp

From the last few days of observing

I noticed that Amber eyes

Was some kind of leader over the Others

When he did something

They followed

When food was served

He was the first in line

Even the guards seemed to hold him

Somewhat higher then the rest

And now

It seems

When someone committed a crime

He was the one to deal the

Punishment

Sickness creeps in my stomach

My eyes glued to him

He raises his arm

Slowly

Achingly

The big Other

Holds his hands up

Turning alway

But the second guard stops him

With the butt of his large gun

Amber eyes is staring straight ahead

His face

Revealing no emotion

I lean against the fence

My fingers threading through the gaps

The metal shakes a little

Emitting a scratching sound

It's just enough

For his eyes to flicker

To where

I was standing

His eyes lock on mine

The color of hot embers

A bark from the guard behind him

Snaps his attention back

A split second

And a bang

That echoes so loud through the Grove

It jars my bones

The big Other slumps to the ground

Something small

Silver

Glinting in his forehead

Scarlett specks are spattered all over his face

Amber eyes lowers the gun

It falls from his grasp

With a clatter

His eyes are back to me

But I turn away

My feet moving before my brain can catch

Up

Hurling myself

I wretch behind one of the gray tents

It's only later

That I realize

The guard had his gun

Pointed to the Other's back

Leaving him no other

Choice

But didn't we all

Have some type of choice

Here?

Fight the darkness

Or die trying
