I Was Two

I was two ,first time wearing a skirt and being aware of it,
My eyes wandered through the sea of older men staring at it,

I was four, the first time wearing a backless dress and was aware of it,
As soon as I walked out, all the older women condemned it,

I was six, the first time I wore a one piece and was aware of it,
And as soon as I showed up, my third cousin dazed at it,

I was ten,the first time I wore my bra with a sleeveless shirt,
And as soon as I stepped out, I was told to cover my skin so I wouldn't be hurt,

I was twelve , the first time I wore my thigh high stockings with shorts,
And was shouted at by my mother for she didn't want to file reports,

I am fourteen and now I realise,
The hypocrisy of the world
A young girl was told to cover herself for she was not for everybody's eyes,
But why does she have to be there for someone's eyes when she did not understand, for she was a little girl,

And to those who said she should dress well,
for there are men out there ,
Who would leave her for dead,

They Should teach the two year old boys to control their eyes,
Before they grow up to stare at a little girls skirt and commit a crime they are too oblivious to realise;

This did not actually happen to me cause I'm blessed enough to have a lovely family but yeah... Society sucks... I wrote this because the new school I'm attending made girls sit down separately and were told to dress a certain way and cover ourselves up and it enraged me. Why shall we dress a certain way because MEN find it too 'distracting'   ...ughhahakssb
