In moments bright, beneath the sun's warm glow,
We find our laughter where the good times flow;
In every smile, in every playful cheer,
Life's happiest moments are held so dear.
The air was thick with the scent of adventure and the cacophony of laughter at the bustling amusement park. Screams from thrill-seekers reverberated through the air, mingling with murmurs of impatience from the long queues forming at the rides.
Nearby, a young couple engaged in playful banter at the throw a ring stall, their laughter adding to the lively atmosphere. "You're so bad at this," the girl teased, prompting a playful challenge from her partner.
A burst of laughter erupted from a nearby carousel where children squealed with delight as they rode the brightly painted horses. The joviality was infectious, spreading a smile across Shafaq's face.
"I want it, I want it now," the child's voice pierced through the lively ambiance of the amusement park, accompanied by the rhythmic thumping of kicking legs.
"A no is a no," the mother's stern reply seemed to only intensify the child's cries.
Shafaq appeared to be engrossed in the mother-child interaction, her gaze fixed on the scene, but in reality, her mind was elsewhere, lost in a distant reverie. The scent of freshly popped popcorn teased Shafaq's senses, eliciting a low growl from her hungry stomach.
'Why would I pay three times more for the same popcorn I can buy at the supermarket for much cheaper?' her inner voice reasoned.
As Shafaq's attention shifted back to her sisters, she witnessed Iqra's annoyance at Aaina's remark, a smile tugging at her lips as she watched them bicker. Their stroll was interrupted by a careless collision with a man in black, his disregard evident as he continued on without apology. Shafaq's gaze lingered on him for a moment before she shook her head and moved on, dismissing the encounter.
"Shafaq Aapi (1), let's visit the fortune teller," Aaina suggested, bringing Shafaq's attention to herself, Aaina's finger gesturing towards the tent adorned with a banner proclaiming "Madame Li's Fortune Telling."
"No," Shafaq responded tersely.
Aaina's face contorted into a whine. "But why?"
"It is not permissible in Islam, it amounts to shirk," Shafaq explained resolutely, her devotion to her faith unwavering. "Knowledge of the Unseen belongs only to Allah, we should only trust in Him."
As Aaina gazed at the enticing tent, she couldn't help but feel a twinge of disappointment. She had been curious about what the fortune teller might reveal. Nevertheless, she also had an unwavering devotion to their faith, "Mn, then let's go on a ride."
