Chapter 12: Keep Her Safe

Kaito's POV:

Kaito,
Nashi gets to do a mission! We want Tomo, Takau and you to come too! Nashi's father won't like the idea of you coming so you have to say you're going on a different one. We'll figure it out from there.

I smiled as I read the note that the girls wrote me, I looked up and all three of them were looking at me. I smiled and nodded, that seemed to get the idea across that I wanted to come. Kaito was sitting at the bar with Takau and I decided to go join them and tell them the plan, I sat next to Tomo.

"Hey guys, I have news!" I exclaimed as Tomo and Takau looked at each other.

"What news?" Tomo asked as Takau nodded in agreement.

"Nashi gets to do a mission and she wants us to go with her!" I answered and they seemed excited.

"Will Rosebud be there?" Tomo asked sheepishly. Takau and I smiled at each other.

"Yes Tomo, Rosebud will be there." I answered with a smirk.

"Awesome!" Tomo explained as he took a sip of pop.

"So, you guys are in?" I asked and Tomo and Takau nodded. I explained to them how Nashi's dad wouldn't be happy that Nashi is going with me. So, we all agreed to say that the three of us are going on a mission together.

Nashi and friends,
We'll come and say that we are doing a different mission, just the three of us. By the way Rosebud, Tomo is coming! We're all pumped to go.

I motioned for Sky to come over and she did. I have her the note but she didn't go right away.

"Please keep her safe, I would if I could but I'm weak. Please don't let her get hurt." Sky exclaimed, worriedly, I smiled.

"I will, I promise." I remarked, now all we have to do is pick the job. I saw the girls go up to the guild and pick a job off the board and bring it to Mira. I looked at Tomo and back at the girls.

"I hope they picked a good one!" Takau exclaimed as Tomo and I nodded in agreement.

So, what do you guys want to do?" I asked. "We could go fishing!" I added and Tomo shook his head.

"You would probably just freeze the water again." Tomo stated with a chuckle.

"Yeah, sorry. I do that a lot." I admitted with a chuckle. My dad walked up to our table.

"Kaito, can I talk to you outside for a second?" Father asked as I took a deep breath.

"Y-yeah! Sure Dad!" I nervously answered as I followed him outside, he turned to me and began to speak.

"Have you been talking to Nashi? Because you know what I told you. She and her family are bad news, I'm not joking Kaito! Please listen to me, they are bad people." He explained as I became more nervous.

"I know dad." I sighed as I thought about Nashi and I. If our parents hate each other we can't be together, can we?

"Trust me son, Natsu did something unforgivable! And his family is no different!" Father added as I began to put up a fight.

"Have you even talked to Nashi!? How do you know she's bad!" I yelled frustratingly.

"No, but after what her Dad did, I can't see her being any better." He huffed and looked away in disgust.

"Hey Dad?" I asked curiously.

"Yeah Kaito?" He asked, anticipating my question.

"What exactly did Natsu do to you?" I asked as father looked as if I should know.

"I've never told you, have I?" He asked in realization.

"No you haven't!" I exclaimed, expecting him to finally tell me what Natsu did.

"I can't tell you, I'm sorry son but...It's not a story I want to tell at the moment." He stated, "I'm going to go back to your mother." Father added as he walked back into the guild hall. I decided that I wanted to find out what actually happened. So, I decided to go to the only person who was close to the two and aren't married to them...Erza.

"Hey Master Erza, I have a question for you." I stated and she turned to me, ready to listen.

"What is it Kaito?" She asked.

"I was wondering, do you know what Natsu did to my dad to make him so mad?" I asked.

"Well, your dad says that Natsu did something to him and Natsu says that Gray did something to him. When they first stopped talking to each other and said that they hated each other I though that it wouldn't last long like all their other fights but it just didn't end. After about a week of them not talking I cracked their heads together and told them to snap out of it but they were really serious. I asked them what they did but nether of them wanted to tell me. So I threatened to hurt them, but they didn't budge. I didn't know what to do because a guild is suppose to be family but they wouldn't agree to do anything and to this day they haven't talked. It's sad really because when we were young we were all the best of friends and did everything together and now I feel like I have to pick sides." She explained as she looked down sadly.

"Oh, sorry." I exclaimed.

"It's okay, just if you have any way, please help them get back together. I miss seeing them as friends, this feud had gone on for too long." Master pleaded and I nodded.

"I'll talk to you later, I have to pack for a mission." I stated.

"See you when you get back!" Master Erza waved as I walked away. What could they have done!? I'll figure this out later, I have to pack!
