Chapter 14: The Second You Lose

Light was peaking through my window and onto my face. I woke up eventually almost forgetting that Nashi was in bed with me. I smiled beautifully when I opened my eyes to see her peacefully sleeping
near my side. Out of no where I heard snickering. I looked towards the slightly opened door and saw the others including Hikaru. I glared at the people staring. They were all standing there watching us. They had smirks in their faces and stood half inside my room and half out. I didn't want anyone to wake her. They were calling Hayami over because she hadn't
noticed us yet.

"It's not what you think! She was scared and--" I tried to explain but they cut me off.

"--Nothing you say is going to make it any less cute!" Leilah squealed.

"Hey, can you guys leave? I want to get dressed." I grumbled as they left and closed the door. I opened my suitcase and got out a dark blue shirt with a light blue trim, jeans and a dark green jacket with white fur trim. Then I laid back down on top of the covers and started to read a book that Tomo gave me. Nashi started to stir and then she began to speak.

"W-what time is it?" She asked groggily.

"It's 9:30!" I explained as she screamed and feel out of the bed.

"I forgot you were there! When you answered my question it scared me!" She explained as she grabbed her clothes and headed to the bathroom to get changed. She came back a few minutes later wearing the clothes that I had soaked the day that we fell in the water. I smiled thinking about this.

"What are you smiling about?" Nashi asked as she sat on the bed next to me.

"Oh..you know, just stuff" I smiled and she chuckled a bit.

"Would you love birds stop flirting and get out here!? We're going to be late for our job!" Hayami exclaimed as she ran through the room gathering everything she would need for this job. After we were all packed up we went to the job. It was a beautiful farm beside a wooded area. It was sunny and bright, perfect for Vulcan hunting! We stepped up to the door and rung the bell. Am old man with a very, very long beard opened the door and smiled at us.

"You must be the youngsters from the Fairytail!" He explained as we nodded. "Well, I need you young fellows to teach these Vulcans a lesson you see?" He elaborated as he gestured towards the woods. "These here Vulcans, they come out of the woods and steal my produce! Can you believe it!?" He added with a scoff.

"Well, consider this job done Mr...?" Hayami trailed off when she discovered she didn't know his name.

"Mr Chute, but you can call me Farmer Joe!" He explained as he headed back for his house. "I trust you wizards know what you're doing?" Farmer Joe asked, unsure about our capability.

"We do, Farmer Joe!" I exclaimed as he entered his house and shut the door. "What a nice, non-pervy guy!" I mumbled under my breath as we walked towards the woods. They seemed empty which was strange, but then they came.

"Hey! What are you doing here?" The Vulcan dumbly asked.

"We're here to take care of you!" Takau yelled as the Vulcan raised his eyebrows. Then he looked over at Nashi.

"WOMAN!" The Vulcan yelled as his eyes turned to hearts. I gritted my teeth and clenched my fist.

"HEY! She's with me!" I yelled angrily as I stepped in between her she the Vulcan.

"Heh!" The Vulcan scoffed as three other Vulcans came out of the woods and surrounded us.

"Ice make Lance!" I yelled as I threw the attack and wiped one of the Vulcans off their feet. Everyone started fighting, the twins were working together and so were Leilah and Rosebud. I was working with Nashi any Tomo. None of the Vulcans seemed to be staying down and for everytime we push one of them back another one came out of the woods until there were 12 Vulcans surrounding us. I could tell that Nashi was running out of power, she seemed really weak. "You okay?" I asked as she nodded her head.

"Yeah!" Nashi tried to seem enthusiastic but I could tell she was about to collapse.

"Ahh!" I yelled as a Vulcan hit me and I flew into a tree. I was bleeding from my arm which was impaled by a branch when I flew back.

"Kaito!" Nashi screamed, she seemed mad but I managed to smile to try to calm her down. I got up and stumbled towards the Vulcan that Nashi was still trying to fight. I took a deep breath.

"Ice make--" I tried to use another spell but before I could the Vulcan had pushed his foot into me. I had my hands on his foot and tried to push him off of me but it wasn't working. All that was happening was I was digging into the ground. The Vulcan pushed harder and harder. "Ahhhhhhhh!!" I yelled in pain as I was getting ground into the dirt. I could hear Nashi yelling, I looked at her in desperation and she was enraged.

"You think you can hurt the guy I love and get away with it!? I DON'T THINK SO!" She yelled as her entire body burst into a brilliant orange flame that just kept growing and growing. "AHHHHH!!!" She screamed at the top of her lungs as her flame grew and grew until it had wiped out every single one of the Vulcans. Once hey flame depleted she collapsed on the ground and was out cold. My eyes widened and I became embarrassed when I realized that her extreme flame had burned off all her clothes except her scarf.

"QUIT LOOKING PERV!" Leilah yelled as she and Rosebud covered her in an extra coat that Rosebud was wearing earlier. I was astonished at what I just saw. Nashi was absolutely amazing! My dad said something about Natsu years before I was born. 'The second you underestimate him is the second you loose.' All of a sudden I felt extreme pain in my arm and chest. I dropped to my knees as everything began to go black.

"Kaito!" Hayami yelled as she ran to my side. Then I lost consiousness.
