BACKGROUND — When her parents planned a trip to Norway, they had August the eighteenth in mind as her mother's due date, not a whole month before. So, when JiAhn was born in a Norwegian hospital, she was incredibly small and was kept there for 6 to 7 weeks before the doctors (who spoke no Korean) we sure that JiAhn was healthy enough to leave the hospital.
For most of her life, JiAhn was very small, due to the fact that she suffers from Addison's Disease, a rare disease which affects certain glands that help to regulate stress and blood pressure. JiAhn was known around her school as "The girl who passed out three times last month," which made her very self conscious. She can't help the fact that she's underweight, but she wish she could.
As a kid, she always wanted to be an idol, like her favorite group Shinhwa and he family thought she was extremely talented. In 2006, at 12, she auditioned at SM Entertainment and got accepted, but, due to the fact that she was never allowed to debut, she moved to Crown Entertainment.
PERSONALITY — Despite her situation, she keeps an upbeat personality and a smile on her face. She loves to interact with younger trainees and is always excited to practice. Her bubbly personality makes her a fan favorite ever since she was at SM. She's very hardworking, but she pushes herself a bit too much for her own good.
